Back in Time to Fall for Him novel Chapter 59

In the CEO's office at Goodwin Corp, Sam was in high spirits. He told Benjamin, "In a bit, have someone bring in a desk and chair set."

He pointed to the spot by the floor-to-ceiling windows near his own desk and continued, "No black. Use Madison's favorite color. And put two or three small potted plants on the desk."

Benjamin looked at him, surprised. "Mr. Goodwin, is Ms. Quinn joining us here?"

"Yeah. She said she wants to stay by my side and learn how to run the company."

As Sam spoke, a smile tugged at his lips again, and his eyes softened.

Benjamin took it all in with mixed feelings. He chose his words carefully and reminded Sam, "Mr. Goodwin, you said before that you wanted to bring Ms. Quinn in to learn, but she turned you down.

"Do you really believe she wants to learn from you and isn't using you?"

The second he finished, he felt his heart jump into his throat. He was afraid Sam would snap at him. Even so, he had to say it.

Over the years, he'd watched how Sam treated Madison. It was no exaggeration to say Sam had given her his heart and soul.

But Madison? She continued to hurt Sam because of Johnny. She even sold Sam out and leaked Goodwin Corp's secrets to Johnny!

Sam's smile stiffened, and he remembered what Madison had once done for Johnny.

He pressed his lips together and stayed silent for a long while before finally saying, "That was all in the past. I'm willing to trust her one more time."

Sam was beyond saving. He was nothing but a lovesick fool!

Benjamin griped to himself, but he didn't give up trying to talk him down.

Even before Madison set foot in Goodwin Corp, she had already cost the company hundreds of millions of dollars. Could the company even continue to run if she came in?

Even if Benjamin wasn't thinking about Sam, he had to think about the entire workforce at Goodwin Corp. Then he remembered what Sam had asked him to look into last night.

He believed her.

"This couldn't have been Madison," Sam said.

Benjamin was exasperated. He sighed inwardly and said earnestly, "Mr. Goodwin, I know you don't believe Ms. Quinn did this. I already have people looking into it. Until we have the full picture, it's better if she doesn't come in.

"It's for her sake, too. The board is already aware of the scene she caused and has taken it to Mr. Goodwin Senior. You don't want him going after Ms. Quinn, do you?"

"Mr. Goodwin Senior" was Sam's grandfather, William Goodwin. He had always resented how Sam cleaned up Madison's messes. Every time they met, they parted on bad terms because of her.

There was one more thing Benjamin hadn't said out loud.

Madison's reputation at Goodwin Corp wasn't great. Many employees disliked her. If she came in to work, she'd probably hear some ugly comments.
