Sienna was jolted awake by a flurry of chaotic footsteps.
She grabbed the phone from the nightstand and saw it was already eight in the morning.
Listening to the commotion at the door, she slightly raised her eyelids, a faint smile playing on her lips.
They were here.
A day later than she had anticipated.
She had barely thrown off the covers to get out of bed when the door was violently kicked open from the outside.
Eleanor marched in first, with Helena following closely behind in her wheelchair.
Trailing them were seven or eight burly bodyguards, a lineup so intimidating it looked like a mob raid.
Even the nurses who had rushed over upon realizing something was wrong, along with the two bodyguards Jarred had assigned to protect Sienna, were blocked at the door by the women's men, unable to take a single step closer.
"Sienna, what is the meaning of this?"
Eleanor slammed her phone down onto Sienna's nightstand with brutal force. The screen was still displaying the text message with the jewelry receipt.
She glared at Sienna, her gaze as sharp as a knife. "Are you testing my limits? Or do you just have a death wish?"
"Eleanor, why are you even wasting your breath on her?"
Helena rolled her wheelchair forward, her eyes brimming with undisguised disgust.
"Sienna, are you dragging out this divorce just because you're hoping to squeeze more money out of Jarred?"
Sienna blinked, remaining silent.
Seeing her arrogant expression, Helena's fury only intensified.
"Did you think no one could see through your petty little schemes? Eleanor and I had our eyes on those two jewelry sets ages ago. We paid the deposit and were just waiting to pick them up, and you deliberately swooped in to steal them!
"Don't forget you and Jarred signed a prenuptial agreement! Never mind those jewelry sets—even if you blew billions today, you'll have to return every single cent to the Sterlings when you divorce. Don't even think about walking away with a dime!"
Hearing this, Sienna only smiled brighter. "If your words carried any weight at all, Jarred wouldn't be spoiling me like this."
She reached out a slender index finger and gently tapped the phone on the nightstand. "Even if it's your absolute favorite thing in the world, if I say I'm taking it, it's mine. What are you going to do about it?"
Eleanor's face instantly turned a sickly shade of green, the veins bulging on the hand gripping her cane.
Helena was trembling with rage, pointing a shaking finger as she cursed, "You ungrateful little wretch! Did you really think you could just waltz into our family and take over? Not a single person in the Sterling family respects you!"
Sienna raised an eyebrow, her voice light and breezy. "I don't even acknowledge your existence, so why would I care if you respect me or not?"
The sheer apathy in her eyes cut deeper than any insult could.
Helena choked, unable to catch her breath.
Eleanor violently struck the floor with her cane and spat, "You insolent brat! The Sterlings come from a prestigious lineage! Trash like you isn't fit to wipe our shoes!"
