"What prestigious lineage?" Sienna scoffed. "Marshal Pigsy?"
Eleanor's face turned completely green.
Helena realized it a second later—Sienna was implying their ancestors were pigs!
"Sienna!" Helena exploded. "Watch your mouth! Who do you think you're insulting?"
Sienna spread her hands. "Whoever answers to it, I suppose."
Eleanor's grip on her cane tightened drastically, her complexion shifting from green to a stark, furious white.
"You reckless bitch! I'm going to teach you a lesson today!"
As soon as the words left her mouth, she violently raised her arm. The cane cut through the air with a sharp whistle, hurtling straight toward Sienna.
Sienna's leg was still injured; she was only managing to stand by leaning heavily against the nightstand.
Seeing the cane swinging down, her pupils constricted, and she instinctively twisted away.
But in her haste to dodge, her abdomen slammed brutally against the sharp corner of the nightstand.
Sienna let out a muffled groan. A searing pain exploded in her lower stomach, like a knife being twisted into her flesh.
Her face went instantly pale, her breath catching in her throat. Her body went limp, sliding down the side of the nightstand until she collapsed onto the floor.
"It hurts... my stomach... my stomach..."
She forced the words out in a breathless whisper, her teeth chattering uncontrollably.
Clutching her abdomen, she curled into a tight ball on the floor. A cold sweat immediately soaked through the back of her hospital gown.
Everyone in the room froze.
Eleanor's cane had stopped just inches above Sienna's lower back. She hadn't even had the chance to strike before Sienna went down.
She hadn't hit her.
She knew perfectly well she hadn't touched her.
Helena was equally stunned. Staring at Sienna huddled on the ground, her instincts screamed that something was terribly wrong.
This woman had been crowing like a victorious rooster just moments ago, and now she was...
The nurse, who was still being restrained by the bodyguards, was the first to react.
Eleanor had suffered a mild shock and was on an IV drip, waiting outside the emergency room with Helena in a state of sheer terror.
The man approached with rapid strides, radiating a murderous aura. His gaze was as sharp and cold as a blade; a single look from him was enough to freeze the blood in their veins.
"Jarred, please listen to me."
Eleanor scrambled up in a panic. "I didn't hit her! She bumped into the table while she was dodging me, it was her..."
"Didn't I warn you to stay away from her?!" Jarred's voice was sharp as glass.
His fury seemed to seep out from his very bones. Every word felt like a boot coming down on their chests—low, but overwhelmingly oppressive.
Eleanor hesitated. "...I didn't know she was pregnant. And... I didn't go looking for trouble, she deliberately provoked me! Look at what she sent me."
She hurriedly unlocked her phone and handed it over.
Jarred lowered his eyes, his expression colder than ice.
He didn't say a word, but the suffocating hostility rolling off him made everyone too terrified to breathe.
Just then, the doors to the emergency room burst open.
