Begging for a Second Chance (Sienna Sloan and Jarred Sterling) novel Chapter 171

Eleanor clutched her chest, her breaths coming in ragged gasps as her body trembled uncontrollably.

She looked on the verge of collapsing.

"Mom! Medicine... get her medicine!"

Helena yelled in sheer terror, desperately rolling her wheelchair forward to support the older woman.

She barked frantic orders at the maids to find the pills while glaring accusingly at Jarred.

"How can you be so oblivious! Look at your grandmother—can't you just let it go?"

Celeste paced anxiously, directing the staff as they scrambled around the room.

Jarred stood rooted to the spot, his gaze icy and devoid of emotion as he watched the chaotic scene unfold.

He waited until Eleanor had taken her medication and her breathing finally steadied.

Only then did he step closer, leaning down to speak in a low, dangerous tone. "Instead of plotting endless ways to sabotage my wife, you should worry about Grandpa's health.

Everything you have right now was given to you by him.

Aren't you afraid he might pass first and take it all back to the grave?"

The words dropped like a bombshell. Eleanor's eyes went wide, her trembling finger pointing at Jarred as her lips quivered, unable to form a single word.

Helena and Celeste were stunned, unable to believe Jarred would speak to her with such blatant disrespect.

Jarred straightened his posture, his dark eyes sweeping over the shocked faces in the living room. "I don't want to hear the word 'divorce' again," he enunciated clearly.

He paused, his voice dropping to a freezing register. "From now on, I handle my own affairs. Anyone who dares to interfere... I won't mind being labeled a ruthless grandson."

With that, he picked up the financial transfer records from the coffee table and ripped them to shreds, letting the pieces flutter to the floor.

Jarred turned on his heel and walked away, his heavy footsteps echoing down the cavernous hallway before he finally vanished out the front doors of the Sterling Manor.

Celeste lowered her eyes, remaining perfectly silent.

Eleanor nodded firmly in agreement.

Celeste's words had served as a sharp reminder.

Given the Sloan family's reputation as shameless opportunists, she highly doubted that girl would sign the divorce papers quietly.

With a sudden resolve, Eleanor pulled out her phone and made a call to her security detail.

Meanwhile, Sienna had just finished making the Osmanthus Rice Cakes and carried the plate out of the kitchen.

She had just reached the second floor and was about to knock on Grandpa's door.

Suddenly, from around the corner of the hallway, she heard the muffled voices of two people talking.
