Begging for a Second Chance (Sienna Sloan and Jarred Sterling) novel Chapter 193

Sienna looked up and realized that Jarred's grandfather had flown in from the Capital overnight.

He sat in his wheelchair, his expression heavy and grim.

Helena, Celeste, and Maloney stood beside him. Everyone looked utterly miserable.

Sienna walked straight up to the elderly man, bypassing any pleasantries. "Mr. Sterling, I am begging you. Let Jarred and me get a divorce."

The old man frowned deeply. "Sienna, I heard what happened. I promise I will investigate this thoroughly and get you justice."

"I don't want justice. I just want a divorce."

Sienna did not waver. "Jarred and I are fundamentally incompatible. Forcing us to stay together is just torture for both of us. Please, let me go."

Hearing this, Helena let out a disdainful scoff.

Right then, Jarred strolled out of the hospital room, his tone apathetic. "Grandpa, just approve the divorce."

The old man instantly erupted in fury. He raised his cane and struck Jarred hard on the arm.

"Stop causing chaos! When I asked you before, you clearly didn't want to leave her. What kind of stunt are you pulling now?"

Jarred casually dodged to the side, pointing a finger at his bandaged chest. He offered a cynical smirk. "Grandpa, no rational man would keep a homicidal maniac by his side, would he?"

"What kind of nonsense is that!"

The old man's face turned purple with rage. He slammed his cane against Jarred's leg. "You brought this upon yourself! You deserved that stab wound. Don't worry, Sienna. I will handle this. If this brat dares to mistreat you again, I'll break his legs!"

Sienna shook her head. Her legs gave out, and she sank to the floor in front of the older man. "Mr. Sterling, even if you beat him to death today, I am getting this divorce!

I just want to leave the Sterlings. I want to leave Jarred. I don't want anything else!"

With that, she leaned forward, burying her face in her hands in sheer desperation.

Everyone in the hall was stunned by her sudden breakdown.

Sienna kept repeating the same sentence, "Please let me go. If you refuse, I won't get up."

Jarred stood to the side, his fists clenched so tight his knuckles turned white.

Seeing her reduced to such a broken, desperate state felt like thousands of needles stabbing violently into his heart. It was a suffocating, agonizing pain.

Unable to bear it any longer, he stepped forward. To everyone's absolute shock, he dropped to the ground beside her.

Sienna eagerly grabbed the document and flipped to the last page.

Jarred's signature was right there. The strokes were wild and aggressive, bleeding through the paper, just like the man himself.

She immediately flattened the agreement against the wall and uncapped the pen.

Seven years of companionship, seven years of love and bitter resentment. She thought she would feel a sense of loss, a lingering sorrow.

But the moment the pen touched the paper, she felt an overwhelming sense of peace.

Every stroke was decisive and clean.

As she finished the final letter, Sienna let out a long, shuddering breath.

It felt as though a crushing weight had vanished from her shoulders.

She handed one copy of the signed agreement toward Jarred.

He didn't even look back. "Keep them all. Sort out your affairs as fast as you can. From this day forward, we owe each other nothing."
