Begging for a Second Chance (Sienna Sloan and Jarred Sterling) novel Chapter 207

Once everything was finalized and packaged, the associate respectfully presented the receipt and the total bill to Helena.

Helena took it with elegant flair, deliberately holding Jarred's Black Card up for Sienna to see before handing it over to the cashier.

With a sharp *beep*, the transaction went through.

Tens of millions of dollars, swiped away in the blink of an eye.

Tucking the card safely back into her purse, Helena turned her wheelchair, ready to make a triumphant exit.

Celeste followed closely behind, with the two bodyguards hauling the massive mountain of shopping bags taking up the rear.

But just a split second before they crossed the threshold out of the boutique, Sienna slowly stood up.

"Hold on."

Her voice wasn't loud, but it instantly commanded the attention of every single person in the store.

Helena's wheelchair stopped abruptly. She turned her head slightly, eyeing Sienna from the corner of her vision, her tone dripping with impatience. "What is it?"

Taking her time, Sienna strolled over and planted herself squarely in their path.

"Pay up."

Helena and Celeste both froze.

Thinking she had misheard, Helena scoffed. "What did you just say?"

Sienna met her gaze, a small smile playing on her lips, and repeated herself. "I said, pay me back. You just used Jarred's card to buy all of this, didn't you?"

Helena's expression shifted, but she quickly masked her panic with arrogant composure. "So what if I did? It's my son's card. I can use it however I please. What does it have to do with you?"

"It has everything to do with me." Sienna let out a soft laugh. "Jarred and I are legally married. Any money on his cards is considered marital property. Out of the tens of millions of dollars you just blew through, exactly half of it belongs to me."

Helena looked at her as if she had just told the most hilarious joke in the world. "Sienna, have you lost your mind? You and Jarred are already divorced!

Besides, you signed that Prenuptial Agreement with Grandma Sterling. It clearly states that in the event of a divorce, you don't get a single dime of Jarred's money. And you dare demand half? You really are a lunatic!"

As if suddenly remembering a crucial detail, Sienna tilted her head. "If I recall correctly, you just announced to the whole room that these items were engagement gifts from Jarred to Celeste?

Jarred and I are still legally married, yet he's already planning an engagement to another woman. So, what exactly does that make Celeste?"

Her gaze shifted to the younger woman, her smile widening. "The mistress, right?"

In an instant, every ounce of blood vanished from Celeste's face.

Helena was similarly paralyzed, completely lost for words.

"According to the law, gifting assets to a mistress using marital funds is a direct violation of public order and morals, which renders the transaction entirely void."

Sienna maintained her calm smile, though her eyes were ice-cold. "Not only can I legally force you to pay me back, I can sue both of you. Have you ever looked up the penalties for bigamy?"

Without them realizing, a massive crowd had formed around them.

Whispers rapidly broke out across the store, with dozens of prying eyes locking squarely onto Helena and Celeste.
