Begging for a Second Chance (Sienna Sloan and Jarred Sterling) novel Chapter 219

The old woman's face was as foul as if she had swallowed a mouthful of flies.

"Don't worry. Even if we can't get it back, she won't be the one keeping it!"

Celeste lowered her head, picking up her coffee cup to take another sip.

The bitter taste of the coffee spread across her tongue, but her mood had never been better.

The neon lights of the nightclub pulsed in a chaotic blur.

Sienna leaned back against the plush booth sofa, watching Luna clink glasses with someone nearby.

Out on the dance floor, men and women were completely lost to the deafening music, but Sienna couldn't muster an ounce of interest.

If Luna hadn't insisted on celebrating her divorce, she would be at home getting her beauty sleep.

Suddenly, Luna sat up straight and leaned close to Sienna's ear. "Sienna! Look over there."

Sienna followed her gaze.

A group of people was filtering in through the entrance.

Leading the pack was a woman in a white dress, her long hair cascading down her back.

Sitting in a motorized wheelchair and being slowly pushed forward, it was unmistakably Celeste!

Sienna instinctively frowned.

Behind Celeste trailed seven or eight men and women, all dressed in flashy, designer clothes.

Among them were Lucas Lowell and Gideon Grayson, two of Jarred's closest friends.

Seeing those two hovering around Celeste didn't surprise her in the slightest.

What did surprise her was that the group didn't head up to the VIP rooms on the second floor, but instead made a beeline for a table against the wall in the main hall.

Coincidentally, it was right next to theirs.

The two tables were only separated by a half-height partition. If they raised their voices even slightly, every word could be heard clearly.

But Sienna didn't react, even calmly picking up a piece of fruit.

Seeing this, Lucas scoffed in irritation.

His lips curled into a cruel smirk as he grabbed a highly expensive bottle of liquor from his own table, shoved it toward the edge, and threw out a degrading insult.

"Sienna, it looks like your table is practically drooling over our drinks. You've been staring at them all night.

Tell you what—come over here, lick Celeste's shoes clean, and I'll give you this bottle."

Gideon laughed and added, "It's a multi-thousand dollar bottle. You've probably never even tasted anything like it."

The adjacent table erupted in roars of laughter.

Luna snapped. She slammed her hand onto the table, stood up, and shouted, "You fat-headed, useless parasites! Why don't you take a good look in the mirror before you open your mouths?"

"Who are you calling a parasite?" Gideon demanded, making a move to stand.

Just as Luna prepared to lunge forward, Sienna calmly set down her piece of fruit and pulled Luna behind her.
