Begging for a Second Chance (Sienna Sloan and Jarred Sterling) novel Chapter 221

Luna was the first to react. Her eyes locked onto the items in his hands.

Among everyone present, Sienna was the only one with that name. More importantly, that specific Champagne Cake had been Sienna's absolute favorite for years.

Back when they were dating, Jarred used to buy it all the time to make her smile. Luna even remembered the exact way the ribbon was tied on the box.

She immediately waved at the delivery driver, her tone confident. "Over here! The delivery is for her. She's Sienna."

The driver's attention was drawn to Luna's voice, and he instinctively turned his head.

But in that half-second gap, a gentle, unhurried voice chimed in.

"Excuse me, who asked you to deliver these gifts?"

"It was Mr. Sterling. Jarred Sterling," the driver answered honestly.

Luna turned to Sienna, rolling her eyes with a scoff. "You two are literally on the verge of divorce, and now he decides to play the attentive husband? A bit late for that.

But since the flowers and cake are exactly what you like, you might as well take them. Consider it your divorce settlement."

Sienna remained silent.

Luna stepped forward, reaching out to take the items from the driver.

Before her fingers could even graze the edge of the paper bag, that soft voice rang out again, neither light nor heavy.

"Thank you for the sentiment, Ms. Lennox, but please hand my gifts back to me."

Celeste looked up, her gaze resting lightly on the bouquet. A faint smile played on her lips. "Those things are for me."

Luna paused, then let out a laugh dripping with pure disbelief.

"Celeste, are you a kleptomaniac? You want to steal absolutely everything you lay your eyes on? This is pathetic!"

Celeste's expression didn't change. She showed zero embarrassment at the accusation.

Instead, she slowly turned her head to look at Sienna, who had been standing there in silence.

Sienna's legs gave out, her body swaying violently as she nearly collapsed.

Memories began playing backward in her mind at blinding speed, every frame painfully vivid.

Those countless nights of tender intimacy, the whispered words against her skin.

The way the man had held her tightly in his arms, his voice hoarse as he repeatedly murmured that single name.

A playful *Sian*... a restrained, guttural *Sian*... a passionate, uncontrollable *Sian*...

She had thought it was her exclusive nickname, an intimate shortening of Sienna.

Because of that, she had softened her edges, lowered her defenses, and treasured that unique title as the deepest romance in her heart. She willingly gave him all of her special treatment.

But as it turned out, from the very beginning, that tender, lingering whisper never belonged to her at all.

When he held her, kissed her, and cherished every inch of her, the longing in his eyes and the obsession in his heart had always been for someone else!
