The fighting stopped instantly. Everyone instinctively froze.
Sienna looked up, peering over the wall of bodies toward the entrance.
The police had indeed arrived, their uniforms starkly visible under the restaurant lights.
Sienna and Luna paused, and as they regained their bearings, they noticed something horrifying.
Just moments ago, Celeste had been pinned beneath them, completely unable to move.
Yet now, she had silently dragged herself to a corner fifteen feet away.
A heavy sense of dread washed over both women as they exchanged a stunned look.
Celeste's lower half was supposed to be completely paralyzed. That was the doctors' official diagnosis, a fact universally acknowledged by everyone.
Forget walking—given her supposed condition, she shouldn't have been able to drag herself that fast in such a short amount of time.
How on earth did she do it?
Sienna and Luna locked eyes, both reading the exact same shock in each other's gaze.
But there was no time to speak. The officers marched right up to them, and the entire group was escorted out in front of everyone.
Fortunately, the chaos hadn't resulted in any severe injuries, just physical altercations and public disturbance.
After a stern reprimand from the police, the other participants in the brawl were gradually released.
It was only during the interrogation that Sienna learned Celeste had suffered a severe panic attack during the scuffle, fainted on the spot, and had been rushed to Capital Hospital.
Gideon and Lucas were relentless, vowing to press charges for assault.
As a result, Sienna and Luna were held back and locked in an isolated holding cell.
The tiny cell felt suffocatingly cramped.
With her anger at a boiling point, Luna cursed non-stop for ten straight minutes.
"Did you see that two-faced bitch? When she was fighting us, I was barely holding my own against her, and now she's playing the fragile victim?
Fainting from shock? I want to personally knock her unconscious, the disgusting freak!
What about all her previous injuries?
Realization slammed into Luna, a chill creeping up her spine.
"Damn it, if that's true, this bitch is genuinely terrifying. She'll do absolutely anything to drive a wedge between you and that trash bag Jarred."
Sienna didn't respond. She took a deep breath, forcing down the turbulent emotions.
The fact that Celeste had managed to fake this for so long without being exposed meant she was incredibly calculating. There were likely many more secrets Sienna knew nothing about.
"What happened to the others?" Sienna asked, changing the subject.
Luna waved a hand dismissively. "Don't worry, they all went home. I already called Nolan. He'll be here to bail us out soon."
Just as she said that, the holding cell door swung open.
An officer walked in and said flatly, "Someone's here to bail you out. Let's go."
Sienna slowly looked up, her gaze drifting past the officer to land on the tall, imposing figure standing just behind him.
