Begging for a Second Chance (Sienna Sloan and Jarred Sterling) novel Chapter 239

But in her current desperate predicament, she didn't have the luxury of hesitation.

Sienna bit her lip, making her decision in a split second.

She stopped walking and turned to Silas. "Then I'll have to trouble you, Mr. Draken."

She reached out for the car door handle.

The absolute second her fingertips brushed the metal, a brutal, savage force yanked her wrist backward.

Jarred roughly ripped her away from the car door with such violent momentum that Sienna stumbled.

As he caught her to stabilize her footing, he caught sight of the man in the driver's seat out of the corner of his eye.

In an instant, a freezing layer of absolute frost coated Jarred's handsome features, the air around him plunging to sub-zero temperatures.

It was none other than the notorious Eldest Draken, the most infamous playboy in the Capital's elite social circles.

He had countless women throwing themselves at him, yet no one had ever seen him give a damn about a single one.

And yet, every single woman seemed perfectly willing to be played by him.

His face was his ultimate currency, and his charm was a lethal weapon.

Half the women in the Capital were eagerly lining up on his hit list.

Seeing the woman in his grasp trying to break free again, Jarred clamped down harder, his voice dripping with barely concealed violence.

"Si. Enna. Sloan!"

He was trying desperately to suppress it, but Sienna could still hear the furious storm raging beneath his tone.

She looked up and met a face so consumed by rage it was nearly twisted.

Jarred's features were steeped in dark hostility. His black eyes churned like a brewing hurricane, every pore in his body radiating a murderous chill.

That look, Sienna mused, was exactly what a man catching his wife cheating red-handed would look like.

Her wrist throbbed fiercely under his iron grip, feeling as though he was about to crush her bones into dust.

Frowning, she raised her free hand to shove him off. "Jarred, you're hurting me."

Jarred remained entirely unmoved.

Silas, unhurried, just offered a faint smile. "The winner isn't decided by who barks the loudest. You have to take the lady's wishes into account."

He tilted his head toward Sienna and arched a brow.

Sienna instantly understood. Using all her strength, she wrenched herself free from Jarred's hold, her stance explicitly clear and entirely unyielding.

That single action was a precise, brutal stab straight into the left chamber of Jarred's heart.

"Hah."

Sienna only heard a low, freezing laugh.

The laugh was laden with indescribable self-deprecation, and then his hand finally dropped away.

But the sudden release threw off her balance.

Sienna stumbled backward, nearly slamming her back into the car.

Before she could even steady herself, Jarred's fist came flying out.
