Begging for a Second Chance (Sienna Sloan and Jarred Sterling) novel Chapter 258

Sienna calmly opened the manila envelope.

She pulled out a photograph and the VIP cufflink registry from that night, surgically dismantling every flaw in his seven-year-old scheme.

“You calculated every single human variable, but you forgot that secrets always leave a trail. You weren't on the guest list, but the accessories you wore gave you away.”

She locked eyes with Silas, her stare glacial. “That one-of-a-kind Diamond Cufflink. The VIP registry clearly lists your name. The serial number, the material, the custom engraving—it's a flawless match with what you wore that night.”

The last shred of Silas's facade finally cracked.

He stared at the documents for a few seconds before letting out a laugh.

It was the laugh of a man who had been caught red-handed but found it thrilling. It only amplified his dark, wicked aura.

Dropping the act entirely, he leaned back into the sofa, radiating an arrogance bordering on sheer lunacy.

“So what if I did? Sienna, you were hopelessly in love with Jarred but didn't have the guts to do anything about it. Technically, I did you a favor.”

Sienna's face instantly went frigid.

She stared at the provocative glint in his eyes and let out a harsh scoff. “Excuse me? A favor?”

“Wasn't it?”

A devilish smirk curled onto Silas's lips. “You'd been pining after Jarred forever. If it weren't for me, you never would have had him that night. You never would have married him.”

Sienna practically barked a laugh.

“Silas, having a twisted kink isn't a capital offense, but you don't need to dress up your sickness with such noble excuses.”

Silas's expression hardened, and the smirk slowly vanished from his lips.

That unshakable, arrogant confidence finally began to fracture.

Watching his reaction, Sienna felt the boulder that had crushed her chest for seven years finally lift.

She pressed her attack, giving him zero room to breathe. “You refused to let me marry Maloney back then, and now you refuse to let me divorce Jarred. The drugging seven years ago, the sudden revival of my dead projects—it was all designed to obliterate any chance of a relationship between Maloney and me. You were terrified I'd go back to him. Everything you've done was just to block my path to Maloney.”

Silas sat in dead silence, his devastatingly handsome face as cold as a morgue. He didn't say a word.

The atmospheric pressure in the room plummeted, making it nearly impossible to breathe.

But Sienna had never felt more liberated.

She knew she had nailed it. Every single word was a kill shot.

Before arriving, she had only harbored suspicions, but seeing the look on Silas's face confirmed her victory.

Sienna stared dead into his eyes, a heavy judgment in her gaze. “All those near-fatal 'accidents' Seraphina suffered. That was your handiwork, wasn't it?”

She paused, her sneer deepening. “And the incident that ultimately shattered Maloney's engagement—that was you, too.”
