Begging for a Second Chance (Sienna Sloan and Jarred Sterling) novel Chapter 260

Silas Draken's movements were too fast for a man accustomed to a life of luxury.

He reached his right hand into his suit jacket, and when it emerged,

a black pistol was leveled steadily at Sienna Sloan's forehead.

The dark muzzle gleamed with a cold, metallic light.

The air in the room instantly dropped to freezing, every breath carrying a biting chill.

"Ms. Sloan."

Silas's voice seemed to echo from the depths of hell, laced with a cruel amusement that was a stark contrast to the man who had just lost his composure moments ago.

"Why don't we see which is faster—your hands or my bullet?"

Sienna froze.

She stared unblinkingly at the barrel, refusing to believe Silas would actually pull the trigger.

Unless he had a death wish of his own.

Sienna spoke with deliberate calm, "Go ahead and try. I already called the police before I got here. In ten minutes tops, if I don't contact Luna Lennox, she'll storm this place with her people."

The smirk on Silas's face stiffened for a second.

Just then, Sienna's phone buzzed on the table.

The hourly chime sounded like a death knell.

Sienna's gaze instinctively dropped to the screen.

A few soft pings confirmed that all her scheduled messages had been sent.

Sienna's lips curled into a satisfied smile. "Shoot me if you have the guts. The files have been leaked. Even if you survive this, it's going to cost you."

The man across from her stared at her stoic face and suddenly burst into laughter.

He showed zero panic at being exposed; instead, his hazel eyes glinted with a wicked thrill.

"It's been a long time since I've met someone who drives me this crazy."

Silas scoffed, his tone plunging into ice.

"Sienna, I really underestimated you."

Sienna blinked, instinctively reaching up to touch the spot, her fingertips grazing a soft, gummy piece of candy.

It was blackened by gunpowder and still emitting faint wisps of heat.

There was no bullet; it was just a sick prank.

"Silas!"

Sienna practically roared his name.

Silas was laughing so hard he doubled over, carelessly tossing the prop pistol onto the table. "That was hilarious."

Sienna let out a shaky breath, feeling like a survivor pulled from the wreckage. Her chest heaved violently before a fiery rage shot straight to her head.

Silas laughed even harder, his handsome features alive with unbridled arrogance.

He leaned back lazily against the sofa, crossing his long legs with casual grace.

He narrowed his eyes, watching Sienna with half her face smudged by gunpowder and tears of shock lingering in the corners of her eyes.

He stood up and took a slow step toward her, his demeanor flippant and vile. "How could I bear to kill you? Someone as entertaining as you... I definitely need to keep you around for a little fun."
