Begging for a Second Chance (Sienna Sloan and Jarred Sterling) novel Chapter 271

Helena froze for a second before the insult registered, her face turning livid.

"Sienna Sloan! I'm going to kill you!"

She let out a shrill scream, raising her hand to slap Sienna across the face.

A split second later, a powerful hand firmly clamped around her wrist.

Sienna turned her head, realizing Jarred had already come downstairs and was standing right behind her.

He looked furious, a bone-chilling hostility settled over his features.

The sheer intimidation rolling off him made everyone instinctively step back.

"Don't touch her."

Jarred glared at Helena, his tone glacial and laced with a harsh warning.

Helena opened her mouth, her lips trembling as her confidence evaporated, yet she stubbornly refused to back down.

"So what if I do!"

"Leaving aside the fact that Grandpa adores Sienna, if he were to wake up right now, he'd much rather see her than any of you," Jarred said, his voice dropping to a dangerous register.

"More importantly, while I'm standing here, no one lays a finger on her. Cross me, and I'll make sure everyone regrets it."

With that, he twisted his wrist and violently shoved Helena's hand away.

Helena stumbled backward, a dull ache throbbing in her wrist as if it had nearly been dislocated.

She had never seen her son act so ruthlessly cold before.

Even when he was furious in the past, he had never once laid a hand on her.

Watching Jarred stand fiercely protective in front of Sienna filled her with a toxic mix of rage, jealousy, and sheer disbelief.

Sienna simply stood there, entirely unbothered as she observed Helena's defeated, seething demeanor.

That cool detachment acted like fuel to the fire, infuriating Helena even further.
