"Unless she never saw him as her savior to begin with," Sienna said coldly.
Luna's expression shifted.
"She has to be hiding secrets we know nothing about," Sienna continued.
"Everything we've dug up so far only covers her life after she was adopted by the Carlyles. But her life before she turned six is a complete blank.
A living, breathing child doesn't just survive for six years without leaving a single trace in this world.
Either she is exceptionally cunning, or... the person backing her is powerful enough to erase her past."
Luna nodded grimly. After a moment, she managed a supportive smile, patting Sienna's hand. "Alright, we can't rush this. You head back to work, and I'll start making preparations on my end. The truth always comes out eventually."
After parting ways with Luna, Sienna headed straight back to the hospital.
Her new medical project was in a critical phase, and she had been working brutal overtime for days.
Around ten that night, Sienna finally changed into her casual clothes, exhausted, rubbing her aching temples as she prepared to head home.
She opted to skip the elevator and walked down the stairwell instead.
As she rounded the landing, she suddenly noticed someone leaning heavily against the wall.
Sienna instantly recognized the figure.
It was Mrs. Bridges, Jarred's personal maid and longtime nanny.
But right now, Mrs. Bridges looked nothing like the calm, collected woman she usually was.
Her back was to Sienna, her shoulders shaking violently, her legs so weak it looked like she could barely stand.
She radiated pure, unfiltered terror, as if she had just survived something horrifying and was on the verge of total collapse.
Sienna watched her stumble, swaying dangerously as if she were about to hit the floor.
"Mrs. Bridges?"
Her heart dropping, Sienna rushed forward and grabbed the older woman's arm to steady her. "What's wrong? Are you feeling sick?"
At the sudden contact, Mrs. Bridges jumped like a terrified bird, violently jerking around.
When she realized it was Sienna, the stark terror on her face slightly receded.
