This wasn't the Neurology department.
Neurology was located in an entirely different building.
Mrs. Bridges had lied to her.
She wasn't here to visit her husband at all.
Sienna looked down the long, empty corridor in the direction Mrs. Bridges had been standing.
There was only one VIP suite at that end of the hall, the door shut tight, the light above it glowing in the dark.
During all her years married to Jarred, Mrs. Bridges had always taken good care of her, treating her with warmth and kindness.
But the way the older woman had just reacted was entirely wrong. It looked as though she had been severely threatened.
After a moment of hesitation, Sienna turned and headed for the nurses' station.
The duty nurse beamed when she saw her. "Dr. Sloan, still haven't clocked out?"
Sienna offered a polite smile and asked casually, "Who's staying in that VIP suite down the hall?"
The nurse glanced in the direction she was pointing and smiled brightly. "Oh, that's Dr. Carlyle."
Hearing that familiar name, Sienna's brow instantly furrowed.
"Is she alone?" she asked.
"She is right now," the nurse chirped. "Mr. Sterling brought her in personally this afternoon. Once she was checked out and cleared of any major issues, he left.
But he was so frantic about her leg and her overall health. It was clear his heart was just breaking for her.
He even went ahead and booked top-tier international specialists to fly in for a private consultation tomorrow."
The young nurse was new and totally oblivious to the fact that Sienna was Jarred's wife.
She kept gossiping with a dreamy sigh. "Even if we put aside the fact that she works here, nobody dares to offend Mr. Sterling.
We all know she's basically fine, but since he demanded she stay to rest, the hospital has to give her the absolute best resources available.
What can we say? She's clearly the love of his life!"
Sienna watched the nurse ramble on, her expression completely flat. She murmured a quiet "Thanks" and walked away.
