Begging for a Second Chance (Sienna Sloan and Jarred Sterling) novel Chapter 294

By the time Sienna returned to the hospital, the sky had already grown dark.

As she was about to enter the building, she casually glanced up and spotted a familiar figure.

In a quiet, secluded corner nearby, Celeste sat in her wheelchair. Her posture was relaxed, but a distinct look of condescending arrogance danced across her features.

Standing directly across from her was none other than Mrs. Bridges.

Mrs. Bridges's face was streaked with tears, her entire body trembling violently. She looked absolutely terrified and consumed by guilt.

She was pleading desperately, her posture completely slumped as her hands moved in constant, frantic gestures of begging.

It was as if she had committed an unforgivable sin, reducing herself to the dirt to beg for mercy.

In stark contrast, even while watching the older woman sob and beg, Celeste maintained that gentle, docile smile on her face, completely unmoved.

A terrifying sense of control and cold indifference was hidden deep in her gaze.

Sienna couldn't hear what they were discussing, but her suspicions instantly flared.

She instinctively lightened her footsteps, trying to inch closer to catch their conversation.

Suddenly, Celeste spun her wheelchair around and headed in the opposite direction.

Sienna's heart skipped a beat, and she quickly ducked into the dark shadows of a nearby tree.

She waited until the car carrying Celeste completely disappeared before stepping out to look for Mrs. Bridges.

Mrs. Bridges was still covered in tears. Looking completely devastated, she stumbled her way toward the neurology inpatient building.

Sienna had a strong premonition that whatever was going on between Celeste and Mrs. Bridges was deeply sinister.

She quickly stepped forward to intercept the older woman.

"Mrs. Bridges," Sienna said softly. "...I just saw you talking to Celeste."

Mrs. Bridges's face instantly drained of color.
