Betrayed by Blood: My Second Life as a Queen novel Chapter 102

Lucian had just witnessed her incredible hacking skills firsthand, so he didn't doubt for a second how she had uncovered the truth.

The question made Willow's temples throb. She fixed her gaze steadily on Lucian before letting out a soft, breathy laugh. "You already had your memories back, yet you lied to me about going out for part-time jobs. You had me running in circles over fifty bucks. Lucian, did you find it entertaining?"

Lucian's chest tightened. His deepest fears were materializing right in front of him.

He instinctively reached for Willow's hand, but she smoothly dodged his grasp.

His fingertips barely grazed the soft skin of her wrist, leaving behind a fleeting warmth that made him ache for more.

"Willow..."

Before he could finish, a sharp ringtone shattered the tension. He frowned, glancing at the screen. The caller was York Lockwood.

Willow saw the name too. Almost instantly, a chilling frost crept into her eyes.

It had been quite some time since she had blocked the 'W' account, yet York had made zero effort to reach out. Did that mean he simply didn't care?

He didn't care if she cut ties, nor did he care about her feelings.

In other words, the 'W' persona might have just been a fleeting amusement to him. Yet, Willow had clung to it like a dying woman grasping at her last ray of light. No wonder he didn't want to admit his identity. Thinking about it now, she must have been incredibly annoying.

She didn't say another word, calmly stepping past Lucian to leave.

But before she could brush by, he caught her wrist.

Willow turned her head to look at him just as Lucian spoke crisply into the phone to York, "Give me fifteen minutes."

It sounded like an emergency.
