York finally noticed Willow. She was holding her trophy, strands of gold confetti still clinging to her loose, cascading hair, making her delicate face look even more exquisite.
She wasn't overly dressed up, wearing only a sleek mermaid gown that perfectly accentuated her stunning curves.
Her waist was impossibly slender, and her collarbones looked like the delicate wings of a resting butterfly. At first glance, her beauty was absolutely breathtaking.
When York looked at her, Willow's gaze briefly met his. After just one second, York looked away, avoiding eye contact.
Yet, his mind was entirely consumed by those beautiful, expressive eyes. His gaze flickered slightly, unsure of why he suddenly felt so guilty.
On the other side, a brief look of blank shock crossed Lucian's face at Willow's words. Before he could even begin to explain, she pushed past him and walked away.
Lucian tried to go after her, but York instinctively blocked his path.
Lucian stared at him, his gaze heavy and filled with chilling ice.
York hesitated for a moment before saying softly, "We really are out of time, Lucian. Three minutes ago, Madam Margaret was issued a critical condition notice. The Solarian Royal House has fully assembled, including Princess Isabella. If you don't go back now, you'll lose your position as the heir."
Lucian's eyes sharpened, his pupils constricting as all the color drained from his face. He forced out the words through a trembling voice, "What did... you say?"
York repeated his words.
Lucian's gaze darkened significantly. No longer caring about anything else, he spun around and sprinted toward the exit.
York quickly chased after him.
Willow caught sight of his hurried departure with a single glance. She fell silent for a second, a mocking scoff echoing in her mind. Lucian seemed to care quite deeply about his fiancée.
But that had absolutely nothing to do with her.
