Betrayed by Blood: My Second Life as a Queen novel Chapter 127

Elias didn't even notice Tessa's humiliation. Instead, he was completely captivated by Willow. It had only been a few days, yet it felt like he hadn't seen her in a lifetime.

She had gained a little weight back on her normally sharp cheekbones, which only made her features look more radiant and flawless. Every single movement she made exuded a natural, effortless allure.

Tessa would often try to mimic that exact vibe with her styling, but it was always artificial. Next to Willow's genuine magnetism, Tessa's attempts were completely laughable.

Tessa was pretty, sure, but standing next to Willow, she looked utterly plain.

Elias was completely dazed. It wasn't until Tessa let out a piercing shriek that he finally snapped back to reality.

"Willow! What is wrong with you?! How could you throw coffee at me!"

Tessa had seen the way Elias was looking at Willow. A sudden jolt of sheer panic seized her chest, quickly twisting into a deep, venomous jealousy.

Her frantic, hysterical sobbing finally pulled Elias out of his trance.

He grabbed a napkin and hurriedly wiped the mess off Tessa's face, but in doing so, he completely smeared off her expensive makeup.

Tessa's natural complexion was dull and uneven. She completely lacked Willow's naturally luminous skin. But because she constantly wanted to compete with Willow, she always opted for a foundation shade that was far too light. Now, polluted by the coffee and practically melting off her face, one rough wipe was all it took to expose the dull skin underneath.

Elias's hand froze for a second, a shadow crossing his gaze.

Tessa noticed his reaction but didn't dare lash out at him. Instead, she turned her venomous glare onto Willow. Her eyes were filled with pure hatred, but she forced her voice to sound impossibly frail. "Willow, what did I even do to you this time? Why do you have to be so hostile every time we see each other?"
