Betrayed by Blood: My Second Life as a Queen novel Chapter 166

As soon as the last word left his mouth, he fired straight at Xavier without a second thought.

Xavier's eyes widened in terror as he scrambled to dodge, but the bullet still tore through his shoulder, leaving a bloody mess in its wake!

Having lived a life of absolute privilege, he had never experienced such agonizing pain.

He collapsed hard against the concrete floor, a pathetic groan tearing from his throat.

Where the hell did Willow meet this guy?

Who was he?

A million questions raced through Xavier's mind, none of them providing any clarity.

He had been so swamped with corporate affairs lately that he hadn't kept tabs on her, leaving him completely blind to this terrifying new protector she had found.

If he had known, he never would have underestimated her like this!

At the very least, he would have brought enough firepower to ensure she couldn't be rescued.

Taking a ragged breath, his thoughts drifted back to Tessa lying in her hospital bed, and dread washed over him.

If Willow didn't take the fall, how was Tessa supposed to survive the backlash?

She was too fragile to endure that kind of vicious public scrutiny!

Fighting through the burning agony, Xavier glared at his sister. "Willow, you have to come with me today! If you walk out of here, I'll never acknowledge you as family again!"

Willow paused for a second before bursting into laughter.

"Who cares?"

Those two simple words struck him like lightning. Xavier shook with fury, shooting her a venomous glare.

Lucian looked down, his thumb casually grazing the side of his gun. He asked her with deadly seriousness, "Should I kill him?"

She hesitated briefly, then shook her head.

It wasn't out of sympathy; she just couldn't bear to let her parents' memory be tainted by a bloodbath between their children.

Xavier could rot in hell, but she wouldn't be the one to put him there.

It would only break her mother's heart.

Lucian threw one last disgusted look at Xavier before addressing his men. "Find out which hands touched her, and break them."
