An instant later, he forcefully shoved the thought down.
His gaze locked directly onto Willow's face as he demanded, word by word, "So you knew what happened back then, but you never offered me a single word of comfort? Willow, you're so cold-blooded. What right do you have to compare yourself to Tessa?"
The sheer audacity of the question made Willow laugh out loud. She stared at Julian as if looking at a total stranger.
Back then, when Julian was falsely accused by that female student, he had sunk into a severe depression, even contemplating ending his life.
Xavier and the others had tried everything, but nothing could clear his name.
After all, the student had been hired by Julian's rival. They had orchestrated the setup flawlessly before making the accusations. They picked a blind spot without security cameras and somehow acquired Julian's personal clothing, along with women's lingerie covered in his fingerprints.
The evidence was considered ironclad. It left zero room for defense.
Willow had helplessly watched the once high-spirited Julian wither away. Unable to bear it, she snuck out and exhausted every avenue to uncover the truth.
But she was so young back then, her mind not yet cunning enough for such deceit.
She paid a steep price for the truth, spending a full week bedridden in a hospital before she could even walk again.
And now, Julian was accusing her of never caring about him? Calling her cold-blooded?
Willow found it utterly laughable. What was she supposed to do to not be 'cold-blooded'?
Did he just want a few sweet, empty words like Tessa gave him?
Forget it. Willow was in no mood to dredge up the past. That was a lifetime ago.
