Lucian agreed, but he continued to prioritize serving her.
Willow had to admit that she actually enjoyed being taken care of like this.
Or rather, she loved the feeling of being cherished, of being completely adored in every single moment.
After dinner, Willow and Lucian walked out together. He walked her right to her door. "Get some rest. If you're scared, call me. My hotel is right nearby. I can be here in less than ten minutes."
Willow nodded. After saying goodbye, she turned and walked into her apartment.
Right before bed, she glanced at her wrist. The ointment Lucian had applied worked wonders; the swelling was practically gone.
She snuggled under the covers. The lingering shock of the day melted into sheer exhaustion, and she soon fell into a deep sleep.
Early the next morning, Willow was jolted awake by the violent sound of someone pounding on her door.
She frowned warily and peeked through the peephole, only to see Julian Shaw standing there with bloodshot eyes.
Nocturne Heights had top-tier security, so Willow had no idea how he had managed to get in. But judging by his crazed demeanor, he wasn't going to stop hammering until she opened up.
She swung the door open.
Julian's hand froze in mid-air, a mere half-inch from her forehead.
Willow stared at him flatly. "What kind of psycho stunt are you pulling here?"
Julian let out a furious, exasperated laugh. Flames of anger danced in his eyes as he reached out to grab her, but she easily dodged him.
