The next second, his expensive leather shoe pressed down on Sterling's chest. He cocked the gun with a swift backhand motion, his tone freezing. "Do you have a death wish?"
Hearing this, Sterling wasn't scared at all. Instead, he laughed even louder.
He didn't care in the slightest about his humiliating posture right now, glaring provocatively at Lucian. "Lucian, you care about her even more than I thought. You'd even disregard your dignity as the Jagger family's heir for her. It seems my decision to leak the news to you was the right one after all."
Lucian's finger tightened on the trigger, looking as if he would blow a hole straight through his head the very next second!
Willow's heart skipped a beat. She quickly stepped forward and stopped Lucian.
The moment she touched him, Willow realized Lucian wasn't as calm as he appeared on the surface. Even his fingers were trembling slightly.
Heaven knew how panicked Lucian had been rushing to the Lyric Pavilion. He knew Sterling had deliberately approached Willow, and he was genuinely terrified she might be swayed.
After all, Sterling had always been full of tricks since childhood, far better at charming people than Lucian was.
He could accept losing anyone else, but he could never accept losing Willow.
No one knew just how important Willow was to him. And no one knew...
That wedding wasn't the first time he had seen Willow.
His yearning for her had started far earlier than anyone could have ever anticipated.
He turned his head to look at Willow, his voice a bit hoarse. "Did I scare you?"
Willow shook her head and reached out to take his gun.
Lucian didn't offer any resistance at all, obediently letting it go.
Seeing this scene, the smile on Sterling's face deepened. He turned to Willow and asked, "Willow, are you worried about me?"
