Willow stared calmly at Silas. "I'm not trying to violate any so-called privacy. I just want to confirm whether or not Tessa has the silver locket my mother gave her."
Having just been publicly humiliated by Leo, Silas was already in a foul mood. Hearing Willow's demand, he shouted defensively, "Who knows if you're just trying to steal Tessa's belongings? Willow, I will absolutely never give you that chance! I'm not blind like they are; I would never favor a backstabbing traitor like you!"
Willow scoffed. "Steal her belongings? Don't make me laugh. I feel dirty just looking at her, let alone touching her things. Frankly, even looking at you people who call yourselves her family makes me feel sick."
Julian's expression darkened, his eyes clouding with a heavy, agonizing pain.
Xavier slumped his shoulders in defeat, his lips trembling, yet unable to utter a single word.
Leo looked like he wanted to explain himself, but the words bottlenecked in his throat. Every time he opened his mouth, the memories of the atrocities he had committed suffocated him.
He couldn't speak. There was no defense.
Silas was driven mad with rage. Clutching the handbag tighter to his chest, he grabbed Tessa's wrist. "Fine! If we're not welcome here, we're leaving! Even without any of you, I can take care of Tessa by myself!"
A flash of relief passed over Tessa's face. She turned to follow Silas toward the door.
Willow smirked. "Did I say you could leave?"
Reading the room perfectly, Lucian stood up and blocked their path.
Furious, Silas tried to shove him aside, but before his hand could even reach Lucian, he caught sight of the gun holstered at Lucian's waist.
Silas froze for a second, his mind flashing back to Lucian's psychotic, silver-gray eyes. The oppressive aura radiating from the man was still enough to make his scalp tingle with fear.
Left with no other option, Silas turned and glared furiously at Willow. "You won't be happy until I officially sever ties with you, will you?!"
