Sterling watched the entire exchange with an arched eyebrow, then turned to Mr. Yale with a bright, insufferable grin. "Mr. Yale, you wouldn't mind if I crashed dinner, would you?"
Before Mr. Yale could even frown, Willow shut him down without an ounce of hesitation. "I mind."
Sterling's eyes dimmed. Willow stared straight into them, completely unapologetic. "Just looking at you makes me lose my appetite."
Sterling's fingers twitched. "Haven't I been obedient enough? I did exactly what you asked me to do."
Willow scoffed. "You know exactly why you showed up here."
A sudden jolt of electricity shot through Sterling's chest. "Are you jealous?"
Willow thought the man was genuinely psychotic. "Don't flatter yourself. You just annoy the hell out of me."
Sterling clicked his tongue. He spared a glance at Lucian, who was practically emanating murderous intent, before relenting. "Fine. I won't be an eyesore, then."
Flirting was an art best practiced when Lucian wasn't around.
Right now, he was genuinely worried Lucian might snap and kill him.
With that, Sterling turned and walked away. Lucian watched his retreating back, his eyes narrowing into dangerous slits.
Once the unwanted guests had cleared out, Mr. Yale turned to Willow. "Leo woke up a little while ago. Do you want to go see him?"
Willow stiffened for a fraction of a second. She turned to look at the older man. "Mr. Yale, I won't hide this from you. I've officially cut ties with all five of the Shaw brothers."
The words caught Mr. Yale entirely off guard. He stared at her in utter disbelief.
In an instant, the tense standoff he had witnessed earlier flashed through his mind.
He had initially assumed they were just going through a rough patch, a minor sibling rivalry that had escalated.
But thinking back on it, the sheer agony on Leo's face had clearly been the look of a man drowning in regret!
Had they done something unforgivable to Willow?
The moment the thought crossed his mind, a wave of profound sympathy washed over him.
