After sending the text, she pulled up the map and turned to Lucian. "I'll head over by myself in a minute. Have your men wait in ambush at Point A. As for the Shaw brothers, figure out a way to distract them, and have Mr. Yale take Point C for a pincer movement."
With every single escape route blockaded, Willow refused to believe this anonymous coward could slip away.
Lucian frowned deeply. "Willow, this is far too dangerous."
Willow's eyes curved into a sweet smile as she leaned in close to him.
The sudden rush of her intoxicating perfume enveloped him, causing his entire body to stiffen for a fraction of a second. He looked down at her, his gaze growing dark and complex. "Don't try this on me, Willow."
He couldn't handle the temptation.
Willow didn't catch his meaning at first. She tilted her head in confusion, her beautiful eyes widening slightly like a startled kitten.
She blinked. She hadn't even made her move yet, and Lucian had already noticed?
Could they really be that perfectly in sync?
Undeterred, she reached her hand further down toward his waist.
Lucian's breath hitched, a faint flush creeping up his neck. He caught her hand on reflex, his voice impossibly husky. "Stop playing around."
His skin was burning hot, his body temperature spiking dramatically.
As if realizing his tone was too harsh, he softly added, "Not here. It's inappropriate."
His eyes were swimming with a heavy, surging desire that threatened to burn through the last of his rationality.
But getting carried away in public, regardless of the setting, felt wildly disrespectful to her.
No matter how desperately he craved her, Lucian refused to cross that line.
Willow obviously knew it was inappropriate too. All she wanted was his gun for self-defense.
