Willow was completely baffled. "It's just a gun! Why do we need to find a secluded place? People are going to think we're doing something shady!"
Lucian froze completely, staring at her in an absolute daze. "You were talking about a gun?"
Willow raised an eyebrow. "What else? Did you think..."
She stopped dead in her tracks.
The realization hit her like a ton of bricks, and her face instantly flushed crimson.
She awkwardly averted her gaze, muttering, "You absolute degenerate."
A deep, relieved smile spread across Lucian's eyes, washing away all the tension in his chest. Thank God she wasn't planning on asking someone else for *that*.
Otherwise... he really wouldn't have been able to stop himself from committing a felony.
Willow kept her face turned away, refusing to look at him. Her slightly puffed cheeks looked incredibly cute in the sunlight.
Terrified of actually making her angry, Lucian quickly pulled the handgun from his holster and handed it over. "Here, Willow. It's yours."
Willow let out a soft hmph and snatched it from his grip. "Teach me how to use it."
The warmth in Lucian's eyes deepened. He guided her hands over the weapon, patiently teaching her how to rack the slide. "It's very straightforward. Once it's in this position, it's ready to fire. Just aim at your target and pull the trigger. But be careful, there is a significant recoil. Keep your muscles tight when you fire, or the kickback will hurt your wrist."
Willow nodded. She had an excellent memory and absorbed everything he said the first time.
As for her aim...
Well, she would worry about that later.
She wasn't trying to be a sniper anyway. If she actually had to use it, she'd just press the barrel directly against the bastard's chest. There was no way she could miss.
Lucian safely decocked the weapon and pressed it firmly into her palm.
