Betrayed by Blood: My Second Life as a Queen novel Chapter 345

Her fingertips tightened slightly, squeezing the pen before she slowly set it down.

Silas's eyes brimmed with malice. "Willow, you'd better pray Edenic Bloom actually takes off, otherwise..."

He sneered, his voice dropping into a vicious register. "I'll kick you out of The Shaw Group and leave you to sleep on the streets!"

Willow paused for a second, her cold gaze landing on him before she gave a faint smile. "You've already done that."

What did she mean?

Silas froze. In that instant, an overwhelming sense of unease crept into his heart.

He didn't know what she was talking about, but he suddenly felt terrified.

Having said her piece, Willow turned and left, not sparing them another glance.

Barnaby couldn't help but furrow his brow. Instinctively looking at Xavier, he asked, "Was Willow always this disrespectful?"

Xavier paused for a second before his hoarse voice broke the silence. "No, she used to be very obedient. We deserve this."

Barnaby didn't understand what he meant, and Xavier had no intention of explaining, simply sitting down in his chair in silence.

Beside them, Silas was visibly upset. He wanted to say something, but remembering Willow's parting words, the words caught in his throat.

On the other side, stepping out of the office, Willow felt entirely refreshed.

She was going to make the Edenic Bloom project a massive success, turning it into a sharp blade to plunge right into The Shaw Group!

Then, she would sever ties with them completely.

Clutching the contract, she walked through the lobby, brushing past an intern.

The intern smiled obsequiously. "Ms. Shaw, you look like you're in a great mood?"

Willow feigned a sorrowful sigh. "What's there to be happy about? I just signed a high-stakes deal to take over Edenic Bloom. The Shaw Group isn't allowed to interfere at all. If I fail, I... probably won't be a director in the Shaw family anymore."

After delivering that final line, Willow timed her crestfallen expression perfectly, a rare fragility softening her features.

The intern immediately thought of the internet scandal. She had watched the livestream of Willow suing the five Shaw brothers from start to finish.

Naturally, she knew all about the humiliation Willow had suffered for years.

Women were always highly empathetic, and although Willow hadn't explicitly said much, the intern's imagination ran wild, and she couldn't help muttering, "That's just too much bullying!"

A glimmer of amusement flashed in Willow's eyes. A second later, she reached out and gently tucked a stray hair behind the intern's ear. "Alright, get back to work. If the manager catches you, you'll be scolded."

The intern completely froze, her pupils dilating slightly.

Willow's face was simply too stunning. Being this close was an absolute visual assault.

Especially when Willow reached out; the faint fragrance lingering on her wrist left the intern completely dizzy.

Blushing and heart racing, she watched Willow's retreating figure. The more she thought about it, the angrier she got. She sneaked back to her desk and immediately started gossiping with her colleagues.
