Betrayed by Blood: My Second Life as a Queen novel Chapter 362

Willow composed her expression and stepped off the plane.

Chamberlain Reed was still waiting, subtly sizing her up.

Willow was even more certain now—this guy was definitely a watchdog.

Seeing Willow emerge, he approached with a polite smile. "Ms. Shaw, considering you're unfamiliar with The Sovereign Isles, I took the liberty of finding you a guide to accompany you on your shopping trip."

Willow paused, but before she could speak, an arrogant, domineering voice cut through the air. "Her? Accompany her? She's just a piano player—someone who works in an industry meant to entertain me. Why are you treating her with such respect?"

Willow raised an eyebrow and instinctively looked toward the source of the voice, landing on a completely unfamiliar Western face.

She had blonde hair styled in messy curls cascading over her shoulders and striking green eyes, giving off an instantly overbearing aura.

Who was this?

Why was she projecting such intense malice during their very first meeting?

As Willow frowned, Reed's face instantly turned serious. "Miss Vane, Ms. Shaw is an honored guest. You shouldn't speak to her that way."

Scarlett Vane?

Hearing the name, Willow immediately understood.

She was Daphne's best friend and the daughter of Daphne's nanny. The two had grown up together, and even though Scarlett's social standing wasn't high, Daphne adored her and dragged her along everywhere.

Willow had often seen foreign media hyping up their fairy-tale friendship.

So, Scarlett was here to throw her weight around and get revenge for Daphne?

Willow masked her amusement with a faint smirk. She had just been brainstorming how to get past the palace gates, and now an opportunity had literally walked right up to her!
