Betrayed by Blood: My Second Life as a Queen novel Chapter 384

Lucian looked at him as if he had just heard the funniest joke in the world, his tone laced with dark amusement. "You're lecturing me about honoring my word? Then how do you explain your infidelity?"

That hit Dominic right where it hurt. He pointed a trembling finger at Lucian, entirely speechless for a long moment.

Lucian completely ignored him, drawling lazily, "Besides, the Jagger family's contract with Daphne does exist, but it never specifically named me. Dominic, you're technically an heir of the Jagger family too. If you're so infatuated with The Princess, why don't you marry her? Why force it on me? You're already showering twenty-year-old actresses with cash anyway. Might as well spend that money on Daphne instead. You adore her so much, don't you?"

His sheer audacity plunged the entire room into a deafening silence.

Daphne looked up at Lucian in a daze, her breathing growing increasingly ragged. It was only in this exact moment that she truly understood—Lucian hadn't simply had a change of heart. From the very beginning, he had never even spared her a single glance.

Perhaps, in Lucian's eyes, Daphne was no different from a weed growing on the side of the road.

At least weeds didn't desperately cling to him.

"Lucian!" Dominic completely lost his temper, his eyes bulging with rage. "You really think you're untouchable now, don't you? Disrespecting me like this over some woman!"

Lucian looked genuinely confused. "When have I ever been respectful to you? Stop pushing your own failures onto others, Dominic. I don't respect you purely because a piece of trash like you doesn't deserve respect."

Unable to win the argument, Dominic took a deep breath and aimed his fury directly at Willow. "Do you actually believe Lucian loves you? You're nothing but a pawn he's using to rebel against me! Willow Shaw, was it? Let me give you some advice: stop dreaming. With your pathetic background, you are entirely unworthy of Lucian! You are only fit to be a mistress, never a wife!"

Willow paused for a second before fixing him with a glacial stare. "You think far too highly of yourself."

Dominic frowned deeply. In his mind, women blinded by love were the easiest to manipulate. He had fully expected Willow to break down in tears, terrified and frantic. Never in his wildest dreams did he anticipate such a cold reaction!
