Betrayed by Blood: My Second Life as a Queen novel Chapter 45

An hour later, Willow pushed open the door to the private hospital room and immediately took in the scene.

Aside from Silas, who was filming a movie overseas, the entire Shaw family was present. Tessa and Elias were standing right there with them.

And sitting upright on the bed, looking perfectly calm and entirely healthy, was the supposedly dying Asher.

In a split second, Willow understood. There was no critical emergency. This was an ambush.

She let out a dry, incredulous laugh and turned on her heel to leave. But before she could take a step, Leo grabbed her arm in a vice-like grip. "Where are your manners, Willow?"

She shot him a lethal glare. "Let go of me!"

Instead of listening, Leo tightened his hold. "You ruined Tessa's reputation, and you're walking around like you did nothing wrong! God, I don't know why I was cursed with such a toxic sister. You are going to fix this mess today, whether you want to or not!"

He yanked her forcefully toward the center of the room.

Willow had been malnourished for years; her slight frame was no match for a grown man's strength.

Leo shoved her hard into the middle of the room, pushing her aggressively in a brutal attempt to force her to the floor.

Fighting through the sharp pain, Willow locked her joints, refusing to yield. She looked up and met the cold, condemning stares of the people who called themselves her family, all waiting for her to submit and beg for forgiveness.

But what was her crime? Was refusing to be their punching bag a sin?

Tessa plastered on a mask of fake sympathy, her voice sickeningly sweet. "Willow, you really broke everyone's heart this time. I hate seeing your brothers so upset over you. Just apologize and give in. Please?"
