Betrayed by Blood: My Second Life as a Queen novel Chapter 51

Leo usually hated Willow the most, didn't he? Why was he suddenly speaking up for her? What exactly had happened recently?

An unprovoked sense of unease swept over Tessa, her heart pounding. For some reason, she suddenly had a strong premonition that... Willow would take Xavier and the others away from her, bit by bit!

No, that was impossible. She had worked so hard for so many years. Willow's image in the hearts of these men had long been ruined. No matter what she did, their relationship could never be repaired!

Tessa suppressed the panic in her heart and said softly, "I'm sorry, Leo. Please don't blame me. I was just too anxious and said the wrong things. I was just worried about Asher..."

Willow was thoroughly disgusted by this speech. She raised her eyes with a half-smile. "Now you remember to care? You clearly didn't have the skills, yet you fought to be the attending physician. Asher is lying in bed in agony right now, and it's all your fault. Tessa, stop making excuses for yourself."

Tessa's face paled a few degrees. She was smart enough not to argue back, merely lowering her head in dejection. This reaction actually made Xavier and the others feel guilty.

Julian furrowed his brows and scolded Willow. "Haven't you caused enough trouble? I agreed to all your demands. Now, shouldn't you fulfill your promise?"

Willow didn't bother wasting another word on him. She turned around and walked straight into the operating room. After changing into sterile scrubs, Adelina appeared in front of her. "The patient's heart is failing. His nervous system is in disarray, causing coronary artery spasms. The myocardium is currently ischemic, on the verge of necrosis."

Willow nodded and methodically began the surgery.

Asher's nerve damage had persisted for so many years that he had numerous complications. Anyone unfamiliar with his body wouldn't know where to start.

But in her past life, Willow had studied his body day after day, memorizing the data from every single day. She knew his physical condition even better than Asher himself.

With just a few glances at the test reports, Willow knew what to do. She took the lead in treating the heart.

Seeing her movements, a flash of astonishment crossed Adelina's eyes.
