Betrayed by Blood: My Second Life as a Queen novel Chapter 60

In her heart, Willow considered the CEO of Lycian Global her benefactor. Even though the other party probably had no idea she existed, if it hadn't been for those bowls of noodles, she would have died long ago.

Regardless of the reason for his disappearance, she wanted to save him. Such a good person didn't deserve an end like that.

Although she didn't know the exact details, she remembered the general timeline. There was still plenty of time. She had all the time in the world to investigate slowly. Since she had been reborn, she was determined to leave no regrets.

She had no intention of introducing herself to the CEO right now. She vaguely remembered that this CEO was very focused on the medical industry. As long as she successfully developed the targeted drug for the nervous system, she would naturally cross paths with him.

After all, if she recklessly approached him now, it would be hard for him not to suspect her motives.

Imagine if someone suddenly popped out of nowhere and told you they were there to save you, and that you would go missing in the future. It would be a miracle if you didn't call the cops and have them locked up!

She had no desire to be treated like a lunatic.

There was still time; she could plan this out slowly.

"What are you thinking about?" Vivienne leaned in close to her ear. "The arranger won't be here for another two hours. Want to walk around a bit?"

Willow hesitated, pointing to a sofa in the corner. "Mentor, I've been working non-stop for two days. I'm exhausted. I'd like to rest for a bit."

Vivienne raised an eyebrow. "What? Have you been working yourself to the bone for those bloodsucking brothers of yours again?"

"You could say that," Willow smiled. "I spent thirty-four hours paying back a life I owed him."

Vivienne didn't understand what she meant, assuming she was just joking around, so she laughed. "Alright, rest if you're tired. It's not like I'm going to scold you, there's no need to make up excuses."

Willow opened her mouth, but before she could speak, Vivienne walked away.

She thought helplessly to herself: I really wasn't making up an excuse!

But she figured even if she told Vivienne the truth, the woman wouldn't believe her anyway.
