Betrayed by Blood: My Second Life as a Queen novel Chapter 61

Willow Shaw opened her eyes in a daze. A second later, she caught sight of a somewhat familiar silhouette.

Lucian Jagger?

She blinked, trying to get a better look, but her line of sight was blocked by a passing crowd.

Willow tilted her head, and when the pedestrians moved past, the space in front of her was empty. There was no one there.

How strange. Was she hallucinating?

She could have sworn she saw those silver-gray eyes, but they had vanished in the blink of an eye.

Willow rubbed her groggy head. She must still be half-asleep.

After all, Lucian was still suffering from amnesia. He had even taken the bus to leave the house earlier. How could he possibly be here?

Willow sat there until Vivienne Vance hurried over. Seeing her adorable, sleepy expression, Vivienne chuckled. "What? Still haven't had enough sleep? Let's go. He's here."

Willow stood up and followed Vivienne. Her mentor spoke in a soft voice as they walked, "The man we are meeting today is Caspian Skye. He's amiable, easy to talk to, and values talent above all else. Don't be nervous or worried. He's a very dear friend of mine."

Willow's eyes curved into crescents as she nodded enthusiastically. "I'm so lucky to have you as my mentor! I feel so safe with you. If you were a man, I would marry you in a heartbeat!"

But... Caspian Skye?

Why did that name sound so familiar? It wasn't just a name she had seen online. She felt like she had encountered it in real life.

Her groggy brain was working slowly, and she couldn't quite place it at the moment.

Whatever. She would know once she met him.

Vivienne beamed, thoroughly amused by her sweet talk. "You've got such a silver tongue. If I were a man, you would have run for the hills by now."
