Willow had all the time in the world to play this game.
After taking the last bite of her cake, she wiped her hands and was just about to head back to find Vivienne when she caught a glimpse of a familiar figure out of the corner of her eye.
It was the exact same person she had accidentally locked eyes with when she woke up from her nap!
Even though she hadn't gotten a clear look at his face, she remembered his clothes and the expensive brooch pinned to his chest.
Could it be Lucian?
Without a second thought, Willow darted after the figure.
She didn't know if she was imagining things, but the person seemed to walk faster and faster. No matter how hard she ran, she couldn't catch up to him.
By the time she rounded a corner, she had completely lost him.
Frustrated, Willow was about to turn back when she spotted Xavier Shaw's back.
At that moment, he was speaking in an earnest tone. "Mr... Mr. Lockwood. The Shaw Group and Summit Crest Group have been business partners for years. We're very familiar with each other's operations. Joining forces will only yield greater results. You're a businessman. There's no need to hold a grudge and throw away perfectly good money, right?"
Willow paused, raising an eyebrow as she stopped in her tracks.
She definitely wanted to see how pathetic Xavier looked while begging for a favor.
York Lockwood, who was standing opposite Xavier, spotted Willow almost instantly. He gently nudged Lucian, who was standing behind him. Lucian pinched him back and muttered a single word: "Stall."
