“Hey, where are you taking me?” Xylia protested, her voice full of playful confusion.

Xylia could only let herself get pulled along as Joshua led her upstairs.

Eliza just stood there, totally baffled by her son’s sudden move, but Aaron stayed cool as ever.

He was busy playing with their granddaughter, waving a toy in front of her to make her laugh.

Joshua took Xylia back to their bedroom.

Xylia couldn’t hold out against Joshua’s passion any longer–her strength faded, and she melted into his arms.

Xylia lay spent in Joshua’s arins, eyes closed, her voice tired but teasing as she said, “Alright, spill it. What’s really going on with you?”

Joshua instinctively drew her closer, not wanting to let go.
