She looked up and met Dominic’s ice–cold stare, her heart skipping a beat.

“I don’t care what you said,” he said flatly. “Apologize to her. Now.”

“But she-”

“She’s your sister–in–law.”

Lydia fell silent.

“After all these years,” Dominic continued, his voice hard, “you still haven’t learned how to respect her?”

“What?” Lydia blurted out. “Dominic, you can’t—”

“As for jewelry and other valuables,” he continued, “most of them went to Ms. Rachel Hawthorne and Ms. Lydia Hawthorne.”
