Billionaire’s Regret After Losing Her (Aurelia) novel Chapter 290

Chapter 290 Perfect for a Wedding

In the coffee shop, Grant glanced at Aurelia’s complexion, a satisfied smile touching his lips. “You seem well-rested these past few days. There’s more color in your cheeks.”

“I’ve had all the tonics you sent over with Chloe prepared and eaten,” Aurelia smiled.

Despite the utter chaos she had unleashed on the Hawthorne family, Aurelia had taken excellent care of herself.

While they struggled to find a decent meal, she ate heartily- all food prepared by her own people, so she could dine without

worry.

Hearing she had consumed all the supplements he sent, Grant’s smile deepened.

He slid a document folder across the table to her.

Aurelia looked at it. “What’s this?”

He said, “All the evidence. When you’ve had enough of playing with them, you can send Eleanor to prison. It’s enough to imprison her for life, or even… a death sentence.”

“This much?” Aurelia was stunnel.

Because Gareth was Sebastian’s man, she hadn’t dared involve

him in investigating her mother’s death, so she’d asked Grant to look into it.

“Your mother was just one of the victims,” Grant said quietly.

Aurelia felt a faint, cold spark of anger.

Her mind flashed to memories of Eleanor’s gentle, warm demeanor around Lauren.

She had always treated Aurelia poorly, which Aurelia had attributed to looking down on her background.

Yet, seeing how kindly Eleanor could smile at someone she considered an equal, Aurelia had once thought her heart wasn’t entirely black.

But since learning of Eleanor’s involvement in her mother’s death, every prior assumption had crumbled.

Now, hearing Grant’s words, Aurelia finally grasped the true depth of Eleanor’s malice.

She opened the folder. Inside was a stack of evidence against Eleanor.

As Aurelia began to leaf through, Grant, lifting his coffee cup, added casually, “The last document is about Lydia.”

“Lydia? What about her?” she asked.

He stated, “Back in college, she was a bully. In her junior year, a female student’s death was linked to her.”

Aurelia was slightly taken aback.

I see. So Lydia…

Ever since meeting Dominic, Aurelia had sensed that Lydia was troublesome.

You could see the calculation in her eyes.

“The apple truly doesn’t fall far from the tree,” Aurelia murmured, her grip tightening on the papers.

“What about Lauren and Samuel? Any updates?” she asked.

Gareth was also investigating that, but being from Germany, his inquiries in New York might have gaps.

“Give it another two days. Some leads aren’t fully clear yet,” Grant replied.

Aurelia nodded.

Whether Lauren loved Dominic or Adrian, her true purpose in entering the Hawthorne family was to collaborate with Samuel from the inside.

Aurelia said, “I need to know how much Marilyn is aware of all

this.”

Grant nodded. “That’s being confirmed as well.”

Now that a crack had been pried open, everything buried beneath, no matter how deep, would be dragged into the light.

“Thank you for all your help lately,” Aurelia said sincerely.

Hawthorne Group’s overseas operations were completely severed, its New York base teetering.

Marilyn wouldn’t survive this crisis either.

“You’ve gone easy on him,” Grant said quietly.

Mercy?

Aurelia raised an eyebrow.

If Sebastian learned the truth about her mother’s death, the situation would be far more extreme.

Everyone involved would face death.

Aurelia didn’t respond, simply taking a sip of her coffee.

“When do you plan to end this?” Grant asked.

“Before I leave. Lauren, Lydia, and Eleanor will all be sent to prison,” Aurelia stated.

By the time she returned to Germany, it would all be over.

When Eleanor heard the sentence, she might wish she had stayed quietly in the Hawthorne Manor-at least she would have

remained alive.

But with this pile of evidence, she would face death.

Grant gave a slow nod. “Before you leave, finalize the divorce with Dominic as well. I don’t want that connection to remain.”

His words made Aurelia’s heart skip a beat.

He wasn’t stating it outright, but his words already revealed his feelings for Aurelia.

Aurelia set down her cup, her expression turning solemn as she met Grant’s gaze.

“Don’t.” Grant stopped her before she could say a word. “Once it’s over with him, you’ll be starting anew.”

Aurelia sighed, “However new the start, I’m not worthy…”

“Worthy or not isn’t for you to decide,” Grant interrupted gently. “Your brother has already agreed to me.”

“What?” Aurelia’s expression froze. “Agreed to what?”

Grant continued, “How about next spring? The weather in Germany is quite warm then. Perfect for a wedding.”

Aurelia stared, breath catching. “I beg your pardon?”
