Chapter 100
Ashton offered no acknowledgment.
“Just these three?” he asked Cassie, his focus unwavering.
Cassie shrugged, unfazed by the glares burning into her back.
“Well, if I add more, Mirriam and her friends might convulse from concern that I’m shamelessly spending my husband’s money,” she said casually.
“And possibly collapse from envy.”
The attendant gasped softly when Ashton calmly slid a black card across the counter.
“Pack these,” he ordered.
The room froze.
Cassie turned to him, eyes wide. “Ashton–what are you doing?”
He leaned slightly closer to her, voice low and amused.
“Add more,” he said. “They have excellent collections here.”
Then he turned to the attendant.
“Let the Madame see your latest designs. Top of the line.”
“We have necklaces, rings, earrings, and bracelets, CEO Pierce,” the attendant said eagerly.
“Let her see them all,” Ashton replied flatly.
“Yes, CEO Pierce,” she answered at once, hurrying away to retrieve more boxes.
Mirriam stared at him, disbelief etched across her face–mirrored perfectly by her friends.
“Ashton… what are you doing?” she asked, her voice barely steady.
He finally turned to her then. His gaze was cool, distant–unfamiliar.
“Since you’re all so concerned about Cassidy spending her husband’s money,” he said evenly, “then I’ll buy everything she wants.”
Mirriam stiffened.
“Is there a problem,” Ashton continued, his tone glacial, “with me spending my money on Cassidy?”
Cassie blinked, stunned.
“But… Cassidy is married,” Mirriam muttered, confusion knitting her brows. “Why are you doing this?”
Ashton didn’t answer immediately. His eyes flicked back to Cassie–steady, deliberate.

“I don’t believe that’s any of your concern, Miss Knowles,” Ashton said coolly.
The dismissal was effortless–and devastating.
Color drained from Mirriam’s face, humiliation flickering across her features before she could mask it.
“I can spend my billions on whomever I choose,” Ashton continued, his voice calm but absolute.
“And you are in no position to question that.” He didn’t wait for a response.
Turning back to the counter, he surveyed the newly opened velvet boxes, each revealing another dazzling masterpiece.
“These are all magnificent,” he said after a brief glance. Then he looked at Cassie, who was still staring at him, momentarily speechless.
“Take them all.”
Cassie’s breath caught.
She could easily pay for every piece in the boutique without so much as denting her account–but that wasn’t the point. This wasn’t about money. It was the sheer decisiveness of it, the way Ashton claimed the moment without hesitation, as if shielding her from every sneer and whispered judgment in the room.
When Cassie failed to respond, still overwhelmed, Ashton turned back to the attendant.
“Pack them all.”
“Yes, CEO Pierce,” the attendant replied promptly, barely able to conceal her excitement as she began arranging the boxes.
“Ashton…” Cassie whispered, finally finding her voice.
Her tone wasn’t reproachful–just stunned.
“This is… too much,” Cassie whispered.
The words barely left her lips. She barely noticed the sharp stares and poorly concealed envy slicing through the air around her, the room had narrowed to just the two of them.
Ashton only shrugged, utterly unbothered.
“Nothing is ever too much,” he said easily.
Then, as if the tension, and the glares, meant nothing at all, he added, “I’d love to see you wearing them.”
His tone was casual–almost intimate–yet it sent a strange flutter through her chest.
Cassie stood there, momentarily dumbfounded, her mind scrambling for something–anything–to say. Words refused to come.
Just last night, she had teased him, half–drunk and playful, calling him her boy toy. But standing here

now, watching him spend a fortune on her without hesitation, the roles felt… blurred.
Absurdly so.
If anything, it felt like she had become the sugar baby–him indulgent, unrestrained, casually pouring wealth at her feet.
And that, somehow, made her pulse quicken in a way she refused to entertain. He is becoming too invested in their game, it’s starting to scare her.
