Chapter 122
“This is the transfer of ownership for the mansion.”
Rima’s voice trembled as she handed the folder to Ashton. Her fingers lingered for a brief moment before letting go, as if surrendering the document meant surrendering a piece of herself.
Her lips quivered, and her eyes remained fixed on the folder–the papers that now held the fate of the Knowles family’s most treasured property.
“With the other two properties,” Red added, his voice low and controlled, “and the remaining shares we still held in Knowles Corporation… the Knowles mansion completes the total amount.”
He paused, his jaw tightening.
“Two hundred thirty million dollars.”
His eyes were bloodshot, the strain of sleepless nights and suppressed anger evident. But his tone remained cold, stripped of the pride and authority he once carried so effortlessly.
Everything was gone.
What remained to the Knowles family was reduced to a few million in his personal accounts–and his mother’s modest home.
After his father’s death, she had chosen to leave the mansion behind and move into a smaller bungalow, wanting a quieter life with only a single housemaid to assist her. At the time, it had seemed like a practical decision. She was growing older, and the vast halls of the mansion had become too empty, too heavy with memories.
Now, standing here after losing the Knowles estate–the symbol of their power, their name, their legacy–Red felt a bitter regret settle deep in his chest.
He should have given her something grand–something worthy of the Knowles name.
Instead, the family that once owned estates, corporations, and influence was now left with something painfully ordinary.
Living in his mother’s modest bungalow was not even an option. The small house had only two bedrooms and a maid’s quarters -barely enough space for a family that had once lived surrounded by luxury and endless rooms.
And pride would not allow it.
With only a few million left under their names, they would have to find a decent place to rent–something respectable, though
far from the life they once knew.
But even that would not last long. They would need jobs. Or start a new business.
Because if they wanted to maintain even a fragment of their former lifestyle, the Knowles family would now have to rebuild everything from the ground up.
From nothing.
Across the table, the folders rested in Ashton Pierce’s hands.
And with them—the fall of the Knowles family was finally complete.
“Yes… these are sufficient for now,” Ashton murmured, his tone casual as he flipped through the pages of the documents one by one, his eyes scanning each signature and seal with clinical detachment.
Red’s gaze fixed on the four folders neatly arranged on Ashton’s desk. The mansion. The properties. The shares.
Everything that once symbolized their power. Their pride. Their name.
“If I manage to raise the amount and repay the company…” Red said quietly, though the strain in his voice was unmistakable.

His eyes did not leave the documents.
“I will reclaim the mansion and the shares.” His tone carried a promise–thin, fragile, but stubborn.
Across the desk, CEO Ashton Pierce merely closed the folder.
And the mansion–along with everything Red once called his–remained firmly in his possession.
“At my own terms, Mr. Knowles,” Ashton said quietly.
The words were soft, almost casual–but they carried a weight that immediately tightened the tension in the room.
“What terms, Ashton?” Mirriam burst out, unable to hold back her anger any longer. She leaned forward, her eyes blazing.
“You can’t possibly be planning to completely take our home–and the shares my family spent decades building.”
Ashton looked at her, his expression calm, almost indifferent.
“I’m not seizing anything, Miss Knowles,” he replied evenly.
“I am a fair man.”
A brief pause.
