“Let me go! This is illegal! Rima screamed, struggling as two police officers tightened their grip on her arms.
Her hair had come loose, her composure completely shattered as she fought against them.
“Get your hands off my wife!” Red shouted, rushing forward as he tried to pry one of the officer’s hands away.
“You can’t do this! You can’t arrest her based on mere hearsay!”
“Step back, Mr. Knowles,” one of the officers warned firmly, his voice calm but authoritative.
“Do not interfere, or we will have no choice but to arrest you for obstruction of justice,”
“Obstruction of justice?!” Mirriam cried out in disbelief. She rushed forward and wrapped her arms around fier mother, trying to hold her back from being dragged away.
“My mother is innocent! This is harassment!”
The officer’s expression remained unchanged.
“The warrant of arrest has already been read to Mrs. Knowles,” he said evenly.
“Both you and your father were present as witnesses. We are executing a lawful order. If you continue to interfere, we will be forced to detain you as well.”
Mirriam’s grip tightened around her mother, but her hands trembled.
“But how is this even possible?” Red demanded, his voice shaking with anger and confusion as he stepped in front of the
officers.
“It’s been decades since Daisy’s death. She died during childbirth. Why are you accusing my wife of being involved in her death now?”
The officers exchanged a brief glance before one of them answered patiently.
“New evidence has recently been submitted,” he explained.
“This includes material proof and written confessions from individuals who were directly involved in the crime allegedly committed by Mrs. Knowles nearly thirty years ago.”
“Individuals?” Red repeated, his voice rising.
“Who are these people? Who’s framing my wife?!”
“They are currently under state protection,” the officer replied.
“Their identities cannot be disclosed at this time. They will be presented as witnesses during the court proceedings.”
Rima’s resistance weakened at those words, her face draining of color. Fear began to replace her fury.
“That bitch! Cassidy will pay for this!” Mirriam raged, her voice breaking between fury and panic.
“What is Cassidy even thinking?” Red muttered, confusion clouding his anger.
“She was only a newborn when her mother died. Who’s been feeding her all this nonsense?”
“Because she’s losing her mind!” Rima cried out, her face pale and shaken.
“She’s gone crazy, Red!”
“Madame, please come with us, now” one of the officers said firmly.

“Kludly cooperate peacefully, or we will be forced to restrain you.
Rima turned to her husband and daughter, fear finally replacing her outrage.
“Don’t worry, Rima,” Red said quickly, stepping closer as if to steady her.
“We’ll hire the best lawyers. We’ll put that delusional Cassidy back in her place.
“This is ridiculous,” he added, his voice turning colder.
“How could she even accuse you of killing her mother?”
“We can’t let her get away with this,” Mirriam said tearfully, her eyes blazing. “After everything she’s already done to us.”
Red’s jaw tightened.
“I swear,” he muttered darkly, “the moment I see her, she’ll regret what she did today.”
And that moment came sooner than expected.
Cassidy was already at the police station when the Knowles family arrived.
The instant Red saw her standing calmly near the investigation desk, something inside him snapped.
“You!” he roared, striding toward her with murderous fury.
“How dare you do this to your aunt, Cassidy? Have you completely lost your mind?!”
His footsteps were heavy, fast—his rage barely restrained.
When he reached her, his hand shot up, aiming straight for her face,
But before he could bring it down-
“Touch me,” Cassidy said coldly, her voice sharp as ice, “and I’ll make sure you join your wife in a prison cell tonight.”
Red froze. His hand remained suspended in midair.
For a long second, the two of them stared at each other—his eyes blazing with anger, hers calm, steady, and utterly unafraid.
Then two men stepped forward from Cassidy’s side. Their presence alone shifted the atmosphere.
