Chapter 128
At one point, she sensed someone approach Zandrie.
He arrived quietly and gave her shoulder a gentle, reassuring pat.
Cassie did not turn. She did not react. Her attention never left the proceedings.
Her world, at that moment, existed only in the space before her-the judge, the arguments, the evidence, the truth she had waited thirty years to bring to light.
Across the aisle, Rima and Mirriam glanced at her, their lips curling into triumphant smirks.
Their lawyers were countering every submission. Every claim was being met with resistance, every point contested.
They expected to see worry. Doubt. Fear.
But Cassie did not give them that satisfaction.
She met their mocking gazes calmly-steady, unreadable-before looking away as if their reaction meant nothing.
“Atty. Cole, the court has approved the additional evidence for presentation.”
The clerk’s announcement came after a long and exhausting exchange between both legal teams.
At once, the Knowles family and their lawyers turned toward the front, surprise flickering across their faces. They had not
expected anything new.
Atty. Cole calmly approached the clerk and received a small, sealed package. Facing the court, he presented the document of approval before carefully opening it.
From inside, he took out a hard disk. A quiet murmur rippled through the courtroom.
With the judge’s nod of permission, Atty. Cole walked toward the technical support desk. The device was connected to the large television mounted on the wall, the screen looming over everyone like a silent witness.
The room fell into tense anticipation.
Rima glanced at her lawyers. They merely gave a casual shrug, their expressions confident-certain this was just another pięce of evidence they could dismantle.
Then the screen flickered. And came to life.
The screen flickered, then a shaky video began to play-its frame unsteady and poorly angled, as if it had been recorded in haste
by someone inexperienced.
The movements were abrupt, the focus uneven, and the audio slightly distorted, betraying the nervous hands of an amateur who had captured the moment in secrecy rather than skill.
At first, confusion spread through the room.
The footage showed a dimly lit bedroom. Four people stood at the foot of a bed where a pale woman lay motionless, her face
weak and lifeless.
A man in a white coat held up two empty vials.
“We administered two vials of Heparin to the patient, Madame Elvira.”
A sharp silence fell over the courtroom. A woman’s voice followed-cold, controlled.
“Are you sure she won’t recover after this?”

“Heparin is an anticoagulant. Given the patient’s condition, she will continue to bleed internally, Madame Rima,” the doctor replied reassuringly
Rima shot to her feet.
“No! What is that? Stop it!” she cried, pointing wildly at the screert, her voice breaking with panic.
“Where did that video come from? Is this even legal? Stop the video!”
“Counsel, control your client,” the judge warned sharply.
“Or I will have her removed from this courtroom.”
But the video continued.
While Rima struggled, the rest of the courtroom sat frozen, eyes locked on the screen. Even her own lawyers looked stunned as they tried to calm her down.
The woman in the footage-Madame Elvira Knowles-spoke again, her voice dripping with contempt.
“This woman thought she could climb into our family just because she’s carrying my son’s child. Disgusting. A maid has no place in the Knowles family.”
Her gaze shifted toward the unconscious patient.
“If Red hadn’t confirmed the child’s paternity, I would’ve made sure that little creature followed her mother.”
Then the camera angle shifted slightly. Rima stepped into clearer view. Her face was hard. Cold. Merciless.
“This woman deserves to die,” she said through clenched teeth.
“How dare she get into my husband’s bed… and even bear his child.”
Gasps broke across the courtroom.
“Add another vial, Doctor,” Rima ordered.
“Make sure she won’t recover. I want her dead”
“Yes, Madame,” the doctor replied immediately, signaling the nurse.
“I’ll pay you in cash,” Rima continued.
