Chapter 201

“I already have,” she replied quietly,

“I’ve memorized every report, every detail.” Her gaze sharpened.

“He already knows what we’ve done… and what we plan to do.”

This meeting-was never about numbers. It was about something far more decisive.

“All he needs now,” Cassie said, turning to Zandrie with quiet certainty, “is the truth… and the commitment I’m willing to stand by.”

She lifted her hand, wiping away the last traces of tears. Gone. Replaced by resolve.

“A man like Vasili Wright doesn’t need elaborate negotiations,” she continued.

“He has no use for empty promises… or carefully polished words.” Her voice lowered, steadier than before.

“He wants results.”

A beat.

“And that’s exactly what I’m going to give him.”

And just as they resolved-Cassie and Zandrie were outside the Pentagon Executive Suite of Cape Hotel only minutes after Vasili Wright had arrived.

The corridor was quiet. Too quiet.

Every passing second stretched, heavy with anticipation.

Guards stood stationed at a distance, their presence a constant reminder of whose territory they had stepped into.

Neither of them spoke much. There was no need. The weight of what awaited them pressed heavily enough.

Minutes turned into an hour. An hour into several.

The meeting inside dragged on, far longer than expected-but neither of them felt the passage of time.

They waited. Endured.

Cassie’s gaze remained fixed on the closed doors.

Behind it stood the man who could decide the fate of everything she had built. Beside her, Zandrie remained silent, his presence unwavering.

Both of them carried the same thought-The same tension.

The same fragile thread of hope.

Dread coiled tightly in their chests at the thought of facing him again.

And yet-There was an equal, undeniable urgency.

A need. Because the moment those doors opened-Malakai’s fate would be decided.

That moment came without warning.

The doors of the executive suite finally opened, breaking the heavy stillness of the corridor.

Several sharply dressed men stepped out, folders clutched in their hands, their expressions grave and unreadable. Their low murmurs filled the space briefly before fading as they moved past.

Cassie and Zandrie exchanged a quick, tense glance. No words were needed.

This was it.

They rose at the same time, composure snapping back into place despite the storm brewing beneath.

“Chairman Greene,” one of the men addressed, his tone formal, “CEO Wright is ready to see you.”

Cassie nodded, but before she could step forward, the man’s gaze shifted sharp, assessing-as it landed on Zandrie.

A silent question.

“CEO Wallace is my most trusted person,” Cassie said immediately, her voice firm despite the tension tightening her chest.

A brief pause. Then the man stepped aside.

“You may both come in.”

That was all the permission they needed. Cassie moved first. Zandrie followed closely behind.

Together, they crossed the threshold.

The moment they stepped inside-They stopped.

The room was vast, dominated by a long, imposing conference table.

And CEO Wright was not alone.

Several men were already seated-powerful figures by the look of them, their presence commanding, their expressions severe.
