Chapter 202
“Please —have a seat, Chairman Greene… CEO Wallace.”
The man standing beside Vasili Wight spoke with quiet authority, gesturing toward the vacant seats positioned to the CEO’s left.
The invitation felt less like courtesy And more like a summons.
Though every man in the room carried an air of refinement sharp suits, striking features, commanding presence–it did nothing to ease the suffocating tension that coiled around them.
If anything-It made it worse.
Cassie and Zandrie exchanged a brief glance. A silent exchange of resolve. Then, without hesitation, they stepped forward.
Cassie could feel it-every pair of eyes tracking their movement.
Weighing. Judging. Dissecting.
By the time they reached their seats, her chest was already thundering against her ribs.
Still-She did not falter. They took their places. Across from them were the men Vasili had referred to.
Petrov men.
Their presence alone altered the air-sharp, oppressive, radiating a kind of power that did not need to be declared to be felt.
Their gazes were fixed on her. Cold. Unreadable. Not a trace of goodwill.
Cassie straightened in her seat, forcing her breathing into something controlled, something steady. With deliberate composure, she opened the folder she had brought-the report detailing everything they had managed to uncover about the theft.
But before she could speak-A thick folder was placed in front of her.
“Heavier truth tends to come with more pages, Madame Chairman,” the man beside Vasili remarked calmly.
His tone was polite. The implication was not.
“We have already compiled a comprehensive report,” he continued.
“You might want to… update yourself on the actual situation.”
Cassie’s fingers stilled over her own documents. Slowly, she looked at the folder placed before her.
Thicker. Far more detailed. Far more… damning.
“The man who transmitted the patented data–along with the recipient–are already in our custody.”
The voice came from across the table, Cassie lifted her gaze.
The man speaking looked almost amused, a faint glint of humor in his eyes.
But there was nothing light about the way he looked at her. It was… unsettling.
“They will learn,” he added casually, “how the Petrovs deal with those who dare betray us.”
A second man leaned back slightly, his lips curving into a sinister smirk.
“Loose ends are liabilities,” he murmured.
“And enemies…” His eyes flicked toward her.

A beat.
“We collect allies,” he continued, his tone deceptively smooth.
“And we eliminate enemies.” The words landed with quiet finality.
Then-A third voice joined in.
Calm. Measured, but far more dangerous.
“I wonder,” he said, his gaze locking onto Cassie with an ominous smile, “where Chairman Greene… and CEO Wallace fall.”
Silence.bCold.
Cassie felt it then-the full weight of what she had walked into. Beside her, even Zandrie had gone still. Their faces paled-if only slightly.
‘Are you trying to intimidate the Chairman and CEO Wallace, Mr. Samuel Petrov?”
Vasili Wright’s voice cut through the tension-calm, measured, but carrying enough weight to still the room.
Samuel Petrov only gave a faint shrug, utterly unfazed.
“I’m merely curious, CEO Wright.” His gaze remained fixed on Cassie and Zandrie-sharp, probing, uncomfortably deliberate.
“After all,” he added, leaning back against his chair with practiced ease, “only those with ill intentions have something to fear.”
The statement hung in the air. A test disguised as a remark.
“I’m curious as well,” another voice joined in.
The man seated beside Samuel-Denver Petrov–rested his arm casually on the table, though his eyes held a different kind of
scrutiny.
“I do admire Chairman Greene’s… prompt response,” he continued, his tone almost conversational.
“But I wonder-”
His gaze sharpened.
-if she truly understands the kind of territory she has stepped into.”
“Chairman Greene is a brilliant woman, Mr. Denver Petrov.”
The man standing beside Vasili finally spoke-Larry Petrov-his tone even, yet subtly firm.
“I believe she is fully aware.”
Denver’s brow arched slightly as he turned to him.
“You seem rather confident in the Madame, Mr. Larry Petrov.”
Larry didn’t flinch, he even smirked as he turned to look at Cassidy.
“Building a multi-billion conglomerate in just six years is no small feat,” he said plainly.
