Bound By A Broken Night novel Chapter 211

Chapter 211

Ashton stepped forward. The shift was immediate.

The ease in the room vanished. Conversations died. Even the security standing beside the directors straightened, tension tightening their posture.

There was something in Ashton’s expression-dask, controlled, dangerous enough to make people hesitate.

“What exactly is the meaning of this, Directors?” he said, his voice low.

His eyes flicked to his phone-now in the grip of one of their men before settling on Belsky and Lukin.

Director Belsky let out a short, mocking breath.

“No one has disrespected representatives of the Petrovs the way you just did, CEO Pierce.”

He extended his hand. The phone was placed into it.

“Who, in their right mind, would provoke officials personally sent by CEO Vasili Wright?” Belsky continued, casually turning the device over in his hand.

“No one has direct access to his office-except us.”

A faint smile curved his lips.

“You don’t need this.”

Then a sharp crack echoed. The phone hit the floor. Shattered.

Fragments scattered across the polished surface. A ripple of shock went through the room.

Ashton took a step forward, anger flashing through the control he had maintained. His men moved with him, closing in instinctively-but a hand stopped him.

Cassie.

She didn’t say anything. Just a firm grip on his arm, a subtle shake of her head. Not now.

“Don’t be presumptuous, CEO Pierce,” Roel said with a laugh, sharing amused looks with the others.

“Your authority doesn’t extend to those under Petrov protection.”

“You’re only embarrassing yourself.”

Director Belsky’s smirk returned, colder this time.

“Be grateful the Petrovs haven’t turned their attention to your businesses yet,” he added.

“Though after this… perhaps it’s worth mentioning to CEO Wright.”

“It’s about time Bay City came under proper rule,” Director Lukin declared.

“Under the Petrovs.”

That was all it took. Roel and his allies exchanged excited glances.

“You’re absolutely right, Director,” Vincent Ruoy chimed in, stepping forward.

“The Pierces have held this city long enough. And there have been… incidents.” His eyes slid toward Ashton, satisfaction clear.

“Abuse of power doesn’t go unnoticed.” he looked at Ashton with a malicious stare.

“I find this hard to believe.” Cassie stepped forward, her brows drawn tight, her gaze sharp and unwavering.

Her voice cut cleanly through the rising noise steady, controlled, and firm enough to pull every eye back to her.

“As far as I know, CEO Vasili Wright is a man of principle,” she said, her gaze locking onto the two directors.

“The Wrights built their name on that.”

A slight pause.

“Using his authority for personal gain?” she added.

“That doesn’t align with what he represents.” an ominous smile carved her lips.

Director Lukin’s expression tightened.

“The Petrovs uphold order in the business world,” he replied.

“And what CEO Ashton Pierce has done is a clear violation of that.”

“While we’re here,” Belsky continued, stepping in, “we intend to correct that imbalance.” His voice rose just enough for the

room to hear.

“No one in this city will stand above the rest. Influence like his will be dismantled.”

A beat.

“From now on, authority answers only to the Petrovs.”

Applause broke out. Loud. Eager. Cameras flashed rapidly, capturing every second.

“My family is one of his victims!”

Mirriam stepped forward, her voice trembling as tears filled her eyes.

“He supported false accusations against my mother,” she continued, her tone pleading.

“Please help us seek justice.”

“Directors,” Roel added smoothly, stepping in beside her, “Madame Rima Knowles is innocent. A valued associate. Please consider Miss Mirriam’s appeal.”

Belsky nodded slowly, as if weighing it.

“We don’t usually intervene in such matters,” he said.

“But President Danes has been… a reliable ally.”

A brief pause before he continued.

“I’ll look into it.”

“My mother too,” Red stepped forward quickly.

“She’s Mirriam’s grandmother. She’s old-she’s ill. Please, help her as well.”

His eyes turned to his daughter, urging.

“Mirriam, ask them.”

Mirriam didn’t even hesitate.

“Dad, grandma can wait,” she said dismissively.

“We should focus on getting Mom out first.” her tone laced with slight irritation.

Red froze.

“Mirriam?” he said, disbelief creeping into his voice.
