Chapter 210
A beat.
“With the kind of influence Petrov Petroleum holds, impostors are inevitable.”
A ripple moved through the room.
“How dare you, Cassidy Greene!” Roel snapped, stepping forward, his composure cracking.
“Do you have a death wish?”
Cassie didn’t even look at him.
“I don’t see the issue in verifying the identity of individuals attempting to seize my company,” she said, just as calm.
Roel scoffed, turning to the crowd with a smug expression.
“Director Boris Lukin and Director Roman Belsky are from Petrov Petroleum’s research and development division,” he
declared.
“Lock them up. You’ll find them everywhere.”
Phones came out immediately. Murmurs followed.
“They’re listed in multiple articles-”
“I see them-photos with CEO Vasili Wright-”
“They’re legitimate…”
The confirmations spread quickly across the room.
“How dare you question the representatives of the Petrovs, Cassie,”
Mirriam’s voice cut in, sharp with disdain as she crossed her arms.
“The Directors are clearly from Petrov Petroleum,” Red Knowles added, stepping forward with practiced authority.
“These articles detailing their contributions to research and development speak for themselves.”
Vincent Ruoy and Edward Shen nodded in agreement, reinforcing the claim
Around them, the murmurs grew louder-confidence shifting, opinions turning.
Roel’s smirk widened. The pressure in the room shifted again. This time, it closed in on Cassie.
Across from her, the two directors watched-composed, assured, their expressions carrying quiet superiority.
“You may contest the seizure, Madame Greene,” Director Belsky said, almost dismissively.
“But until then-” He gestured lightly.
“Malakai Group will be placed under interim leadership.”
His hand opened toward one of his men. A folder was immediately placed into it.
“I am appointing President Roel Danes to oversee operations.”
The words landed like a verdict. Roel didn’t even try to hide his satisfaction.
Belsky stepped forward and handed the folder to Cassie.

“Here are the documents confirming Petrov Petroleum’s acquisition of Malakai Group.”
Cassie took the folder but she didn’t open it
For a moment, she simply staredhat it while the entire room watched-waiting for her to react, to accept what was being handed to her.
Slowly, she lifted her gaze. It found Ashton.
He had been silent since the entourage arrived. Still. Unmoving.
Their eyes met. Nothing was said. But something passed between them-brief, unreadable.
“You can choose to step down peacefully, Madame Greene,” Roel said, his voice carrying across the room.
“That document is more than enough proof that you’ve lost control of Malakai Group.”
He let out a satisfied breath, clearly enjoying the moment.
“It’s already under my command.”
A ripple of approval followed-low murmurs, quiet congratulations from those aligned with him.
Cassie didn’t react.
“Well,” she said lightly, lifting the folder just enough for it to be seen, “we’ll still need to verify these documents through CEO Vasili Wright’s office.”
The room stilled. Every sound cut off.
All eyes turned to her again-then shifted toward Roel and the two directors. For the first time, there was hesitation.
“Who do you think you are,” Director Belsky said, his voice edged with disdain, “to expect CEO Vasili Wright to entertain your… demands?”
His sneer deepened.
“Petrov Petroleum-especially its CEO-does not waste time on insignificant matters.”
A beat.
“But,” Director Lukin added smoothly, stepping in with a practiced smile, “you may raise your concerns with us.”
His tone was almost gracious.

“And we’ll make sure they reach the CEO.”
The offer sounded polite-but it wasn’t. It was control, dressed as courtesy. Cassie understood it. And Ashton did too.
“Don’t push your luck, Cassidy. Just step down.” Tanya Shen’s smirk was unmistakable, her tone laced with satisfaction.
“If you’re smart, you’ll cooperate. Directors Belsky and Lukin might even help you negotiate with the CEO-if you make it worth their time.”
Beside her, Maricris and Mirriam let out quiet laughs, feeding off the moment.
