Still, bitterness burned in Mirriam’s eyes. “Useless or not, she’s the wife of the biggest stockholder in Knowles Corporation, Mom,” she snapped.

“I can’t accept that. I can’t accept that she gets a multimillionaire husband while I get nothing.”

Rima’s expression shifted slowly–calculated, deliberate. A smile curved her lips as she studied her daughter.

“Well,” she said smoothly, “you can do something about that, Mirriam.”

Mirriam frowned, curiosity flickering through her anger. “What are you talking about?”

Rima leaned back, her smile deepening. “There’s no future between you and Ashton. That old witch Carina Pierce will never allow our family anywhere near hers as long as she’s breathing. So while we wait for that hag to finally exit this world,” she said coldly, “why not redirect your efforts?”

Even Red turned toward his wife now, interest sharpening his gaze. He could almost see the plan forming.

“What do you mean, Mom?” Mirriam asked slowly, intrigued despite herself.

Rima’s eyes gleamed. “If Cassidy managed to capture CEO Wallace’s interest,” she said softly, “why can’t you? You have beauty–like her. The kind no man can resist.”

Mirriam’s eyes widened. “Are you telling me to seduce CEO Wallace?”

“Tell me,” Rima countered calmly, “are you really willing to let Cassidy enjoy life as a millionaire’s wife? To watch her spend money freely, influence decisions, and gain access to Knowles Corporation?” Her tone hardened.

“Will you let her enjoy sixty percent of the shares while we are left clinging to a miserable ten?”

The room went still.

Red and Mirriam exchanged a look–shock giving way to calculation. In the darkness of the moment, something dangerous sparked between them.

“We have to secure that sixty percent,” Rima continued, her voice steady and assured.

“Otherwise, Knowles Corporation will never truly be ours again.”

Then Rima turned toward her husband, her eyes narrowing with intent.

“You’ll handle that part, Red. You need to convince her. Cassidy has always been desperate for your approval–I know she’ll bend over backward just to earn a shred of your favor.”

She let out a soft scoff. “She’s been that way for as long as I can remember. This won’t be difficult.”

Red’s expression remained hard, but he didn’t deny it.

“Once the contract is signed,” Rima continued smoothly, “we move to the next phase.” Her lips curved into a smirk as her gaze shifted between Red and Mirriam.

“We destroy their marriage.”

The word hung in the air–cold, deliberate.

“We make them divorce,” she added quietly, clearly savoring the thought.
