Daniel set the phone down. “What exactly are you planning?”

I leaned back into the pillows and exhaled slowly. “I’m going to hit him where it hurts. Not just financially. In the werewolf world too.”

His expression sharpened. “You’re going after his rank.”

“Everything he built was a lie. Everything he flaunts is stolen. The world needs to see it.”

He nodded once, firm. “Then I’ll support whatever move you make.”

“I know you will.”

He picked up the phone again, studying the files more carefully. “These documents… they’re thorough. Whoever compiled this knows Mark very well.”

“I noticed.”

“And they want him exposed.”

“I also noticed.”

Daniel looked up, thoughtful. “Do you think it was someone from his company? Or his pack?”

“Maybe.” I lifted the coffee again. “Or maybe someone finally got tired of his hypocrisy.”

“And you’re pleased.”

I didn’t bother hiding it. “Very.”

He gave a slow nod. “So this is your counter–attack.”

“This is the beginning,” I corrected him. “People like Mark only fall once. But when they fall, it has to be in a way they can never get up again.”

The wolf inside me stirred at that thought. She had been restless ever since the gala. Seeing Clara’s performance last night had irritated her more than I expected. She wanted justice. Retribution. Balance.

Daniel reached out and touched my leg lightly. “Before you go to war, let me check these files through our own system. If someone forged anything-”

“They didn’t,” I said simply. “Everything there is too clean. Too precise. This is real.”

“Even so-”

“You can verify it,” I cut in, “but I already know. And now that I have this? I can finally crush every lie he built his life on.”

Daniel watched me for a long moment, studying me the way he did when he was reading my mood.

“You’ve changed,” he said quietly.

“I’ve grown,” I corrected him. “There’s a difference.”

He reached out and tucked a strand of hair behind my ear. “Whatever comes next, I’ll stand with you.”

“You always do.”

He kissed my forehead again, slower this time. I leaned into it.

Then I grabbed my phone, reopened the email, and started organizing the files into folders. My mind moved fast–scenarios, strategies, timelines. I wasn’t rushing this. I wanted precision. I wanted control.

Clara had embarrassed herself.

Mark was next.

And unlike her, he wasn’t going to walk away from this.

My wolf hummed in my chest, satisfied.

The war had officially begun.

I got dressed minute later and left for work. Before I got to work, I texted Bella to clear my schedule.

Bella had cleared my entire schedule before I even got to the office. She was efficient like that. When I walked in, she met me halfway down the hall, tablet in hand, hair pinned back in her usual work mode.

“Everything for today has been moved or canceled,” she said. “Your legal team is already in the conference room, waiting. And Alpha Daniel said he’ll join in ten minutes.”

I nodded. “Good. And that other thing I told you to handle?”

Her expression sharpened. “Already in progress. I’ve contacted the women who run the biggest salons and spas. They’ll drop the stories casually. By afternoon it will spread through every mall, studio, and shopping

center.”

“Perfect.”

Bella gave a small smile, the kind that said she enjoyed the assignment more than she was supposed to. “Clara won’t be able to step outside without hearing something.”

“That’s the goal,” I said.

I didn’t waste more time. I headed to the conference room. Four lawyers were already seated–two from Carter Holdings‘ internal team, and two I hired months ago for personal matters that kept coming up thanks to Clara and Mark. They stood when I entered.

“Good morning, Luna,” one of them said.

“Morning. Sit.” I took my seat at the head of the table. “Let’s get to it.”
