Chapter 302 Something Else
AMY
“Good,” I said. “Because I’m not letting you.”
When we pulled into the driveway, I froze.
Daniel saw it first.
“Stay here,” he said.
Spray paint covered the front gate in thick red letters.
STOP THE TAKEOVER
OR YOU WON’T LIKE THE NEXT BODY
Daniel growled. The sound was low and dangerous. His wolf pushed up again.
“Inside.” he said. “Now.”
“Daniel-”
“Amy. Inside.”
He moved fast, checking the perimeter, calling guards, activating motion

back into alpha mode, sharp and precise. I stepped closer to the gate and took in the message again.
Fear didn’t hit me.
Rage did.
Someone had walked onto my property. Someone had painted a direct threat at my home. Someone. thought fear would make me retreat.
Daniel came back to my side. “We’ll find who did it.”
“We won’t wait for them to strike again,” I said.
He studied my face. “You’re planning something.”
“Yes.”
He didn’t try to argue. He knew that look on me by now
Inside the house, I made a call to Mia, my lead investor and two others I trusted. It was late, but they answered on the first ring.
“I need a meeting.” I said. “Tonight.”
Mia didn’t hesitate. “Same location?”
“Yes. No team. Just you.

When I hung up, Daniel leaned against the doorway. “You’re really doing this.”
“I’m ending this,” I said.

I grabbed my laptop, pulled up the financial maps, and highlighted every asset Mark still had a grip on. Every property Elias circled around. Every business tied to that offshore account.
Daniel watched me silently as I worked.
“You’re going for a full acquisition,” he said.
“Yes.”
“That will bankrupt him.”
“That’s the point.”
“That will make Elias furious.”
“Good.”
He exhaled slowly, a mix of concern and pride. “I should come with you.”
“You’re coming,” I said. “This is a war, and I’m done pretending it isn’t.”
He stepped closer and cupped my cheek. “You scare me when you get like this.”
“You love it.”
He didn’t deny it. He just kissed my forehead. “Let’s go then.”
I shut my laptop and grabbed my coat.
Tonight wasn’t about defense.
Tonight was about taking back power.
If Elias wanted to hunt me, he was about to learn I wasn’t prey.
I was the storm he should have stayed clear of.
And I wasn’t backing down.
I barely slept after the spray–paint threat on our gate. My mind kept circling one thing—the guard’s last words. Elias wasn’t after Daniel. He was after me.
The thought didn’t scare me. It pissed me off.
By morning, I had a plan forming. It was risky. Stupid. Exactly the kind of move someone like Elias wouldn’t expect me to make.
I walked into my office and shut the door behind me. Daniel followed, obviously glued to me since the hospital incident.
He didn’t bother hiding his irritation.

“Amy, you need to slow down. One guard almost died. This isn’t the time to pull stunts.”
“I’m not pulling stunts,” I said, sitting at my desk. “I’m cornering a predator.”
His wolf stirred–eyes sharpening, jaw tightening.
“You’re talking about Elias like he’s some corporate opponent. He’s not. He’s lethal.”
“Good,” I muttered. “So am I.”
He dragged a hand through his hair and exhaled hard.
“What are you planning?”
The tone said he already knew he wasn’t going to like the answer.
I opened my laptop and turned the screen to him. A blank email draft sat open.

“A leak,” I said. “I’m dropping a message through a disposable account. Some ‘anonymous source claiming I’m meeting a whistleblower tonight. Something tied to Mark’s offshore accounts.”
Daniel stared at me like I’d grown another head.
“You’re bait.”
“Yes.”
“You’re setting yourself up as bait for a man who literally hunts
ves.”
“He wants information,” I said. “He thinks I have it. This will make him
Daniel stepped closer.
“Amy, this is a terrible idea.”
“I know.”
His mouth tightened.
“You’re still doing it.”
“Yes”
He swore under his breath. “Then I’m going with you.”
“No. You can’t be seen–
“I’m not asking.” His voice dropped to that quiet, dominant tone that made my wolf lift her head. “If you go, I go.
I didn’t argue. Not this time.
“Fine. But you stay hidden.”
That’s not how this works.”

We stared at each other until he sighed again, grabbed the back of my neck, and pressed his forehead to
mine.
“I hate every part of this.”
I let my hand rest over his chest, feeling his wolf pacing just under the skin.
“I know. But this is the only way to get ahead of him.”
After a long pause, he nodded.
“Then we do it my way. You stay behind me, you move when I say move, and if anything feels off, you get out. I don’t care if I have to drag you.”
