They sat together for a while at a café near the hospital.

Tristen looked at her pale face and frowned with concern. “Christmas is just a few days away. Let me push back your start date until after the holidays. Spend this time with your family, and give yourself a chance to rest.”

His kindness warmed her heart.

Miranda was still in the hospital. Waiting until after Christmas to start work would be easier on everyone.

After parting with Tristen, Bethan went to the hospital.

Miranda was discussing plans with Vincent. They had decided she would be discharged in a few days.
