Chapter 126 When You’re Truly Mrs. Cavill Again
They sat together for a while at a café near the hospital.
Tristen looked at her pale face and frowned with concern. “Christmas is just a few days away. Let me push back your start date until after the holidays. Spend this time with your family, and give yourself a chance to rest.”
His kindness warmed her heart.
Miranda was still in the hospital. Waiting until after Christmas to start work would be easier on everyone.
After parting with Tristen, Bethan went to the hospital.
Miranda was discussing plans with Vincent. They had decided she would be discharged in a few days.
From her parents, Bethan learned that Daniel had already been released. He had even stopped by the night before to see her parents, though he hadn’t had the courage to face her.

Hearing the news, Bethan felt no anger-just a heavy, suffocating weight pressing down inside her.
Bethan’s father only had one brother. Her uncle had died years ago from lung cancer.
Her cousin Daniel, now nearly forty, had been left disabled after an accident and had only one daughter, Molly.
The little girl was just nine years old when she was diagnosed with leukemia.
Bethan couldn’t turn her back on her. Just hearing Molly call her “Aunt Bethan” was enough to break her heart.
If the situation were reversed, if it were her own child, she knew she wouldn’t give up the only chance to save her. No one could.
By the time Bethan left the hospital, the sky had already darkened.
She immediately searched for the number of the antique collector who had bought her jewelry set.

She called twice, but he didn’t pick up. When she finally reached his broker, the man said he’d call her back later.
When Bethan got home, Hugh hadn’t returned yet.
After showering and changing into her pajamas, she curled up on the sofa, waiting for the phone to ring.
Jemma came over to let her know. “Mrs. Cavill, dinner’s ready. I’ll head back to Cavill Manor now.”
Bethan got up and walked her to the door.
Hugh never liked having live-in staff. Whenever needed, Jemma would come over to cook and quietly tidy up while he wasn’t around.
After Jemma left, Bethan’s phone finally rang.
She snatched it up, her pulse racing-only for her knees to give out when she heard the news. The collector had already sold the set for a higher price.
Her voice cracked as she broke down. “We signed a contract! I had the right of first refusal. Why didn’t you Rófify me before reselling my jewelry?”

Ms. Olsen, if you want to fight it, take the contract to
court.”
He hung up before she could reply.
Bethan sat frozen, her mind spinning. If she couldn’t get
the jewelry back, she would never forgive herself.
A sound behind her made her turn.
Hugh walked in carrying a black combination case.
She recognized it instantly.
In that moment, it all clicked-Hugh was the one who had outbid her.
Bethan rushed over and tried to snatch the case.
Hugh stopped her. “Don’t be hasty. I’ll open it for you.”
He led her into the closet’s vault, set the case on the table, and opened it. The jewelry gleamed inside, unmistakably hers.
The moment Bethan confirmed it, she slammed the l:17
